I've found some info on these cruises and am curious to hear a little more about them. Can you book the cruises from any of the MK resort marinas (GF, Poly, WL, CR)? Is there a difference in where they would take you to watch the fireworks? I'm thinking the Birthday package would be a great way to end my next trip with my family. Who do you contact to set it up? Thanks!

First, you make ressies by calling 1-404-WDW-PLAY. It's the same procedure as booking Illuminations; so, follow those instructions which have been well posted here.

The good and the bad of this cruise: The main drawback is that I don't feel you are close enough to the castle to get a good view. It's ok but only ok. They will take you over to the Poly to see the water pageant after the fireworks which is a nice add-on. With the Illumination's cruise you see much better. If I could only afford one I would do the Illuminations. It's ok to go once just to have the expereince of the MK cruise but for a repeat it's Illumination cruise all the way.

Someone else will have to talk about the birthday party.

We have done the MK fireworks cruises for the past 2 years and LOVED them. Best way to see the fireworks, IMHO. First year we left from the Contemporary, last year from the Polynesian. We are taking a very large family trip this December and plan on renting a birthday cruise. I would definitely recommend it - money very well spent!!
