I just tried getting a reservation for Aug. 1st and was told that it is booked. I am staying on site and have the dinig poan, but it isn't free dining. then, I asked her to make sure that shae un-clicked the free dining box. she laughed and said that there was no box to check in my reservation screen because my dining plan wasn't the free dining dining plan. She even checked at the end of the call to see if one had opened up, but no luck. I then called again a little later and used my maiden name, cell phone number, and said taht we were off-property, but still no luck. Should we bother trying any more? It is a Saturday Spectro night.:confused3

I would say try but since this is a pre pay everybody has pd for this. But I still try cause they did said you have up till 24 hrs b 4 to cancel to get all your money back. Good Luck:thumbsup2

WOW ! I was just able to add my son & his DGF on the 8/28. So ppl keep trying.

After my fiasco yesterday I called back Disney Dining and a wonderful cast member made my Wishes Dessert Party reservation for my first choice date - 8/5 - in about 3 minutes. This was after being told on my first hour long call that there was no availability for either of the dates I wanted. If you have trouble making a reservation for this or you're told there is no availability call back and keep trying!!

At what time did you call? When are these knowledgeable wonderful cast members on duty?

Help! :faint:

Right now! :yay: I just talked to a great cast member who was able to change my original reservation on 8/8 from 5 to 7. My friend and her daughter have decided to join us for a couple of days, this is my son's birthday, so I was stressing, afraid it would be booked. But it worked out!:woohoo:

A 9m 18s call has led to another unsuccessful attempt. I'm quickly realizing that I'm spending my budget for the Dessert Party on LD. So, no more :snooty:. I'll try with the concierge at the resort, but I refuse to spend more time on something with so little relevance overall on our vacation.

I e-mailed the concierge (IPO) at the GF on Saturday a.m. for reservations for Aug. 12th. On Monday a.m. I got a reply back and they had made the reservation and charged my credit card. The concierge has been great getting me my ADR requests.

Who's going Friday August 28 th ?

We are booked for the 28th too! :thumbsup2 It is our last night at Disney.

I originally tried to book this on 8/23. I was told there was no party that night. I tried calling back and getting a different cast member and again was told there was no party that night. I booked it for 8/28. They took my cc# and charged it. I also have a DINNER reservation for 8/23 at the Tomorrowland Terrace. No cc# required for that and also on the dining plan.

Well, we have a reservation for Friday, August 28th! See you there!! :goodvibes

Okay, now I'm getting a little concerned! :confused3 Are any of you also on TGM? I know of three other groups there (2 of which are parties of 9) booked for that evening, along with myself and another TGM'er (4 total). Right there that makes 22 people, plus 5 other groups here of DIS'ers!

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm definitely looking forward to meeting all of you folks, and will plan to have on my lime green DIS t-shirt (and force my DS16 to wear his as well!). Please come and say hi, since that's the main reason we're doing this. We're doing 'Ohana for dinner that evening (only time I could get it all week), so I'm guessing we're not going to be all that hungry! But we've never done Wishes and it seems like a great way to do and get to meet DIS and TGM'ers at the same time.

But I'm starting to wonder what the actual limit is? I thought I'd read both 50 and 65, which seem reasonable, but it seems like we can account for those people just on the boards! Or are we the only people who know about it?! :rotfl:

Okay, I booked August 23rd and called back to confirm my reservation. My credit card has been charged. I read all the capacity limits mentioned but also read 160 people per evening. I think maybe that number is most accurate. Maybe it started as only being for the lower numbers and then it got popular so they added to it?:confused3 I am nervous about that August 23rd date but now that my CC is charged, it has to be available, right???

I just found this thread and have not had a chance to read through it yet, so sorry if this has already been answered, but...

Has anyone heard if they plan to extend this past August 28th? I was reading a review from someone (on another site) that went to the Dessert party and had spoken to the chefs there. The chefs were already talking about changes to the menu that would be made with the different seasons! :confused3 And someone else on this site said that they called and got a reservation for August 29th! :confused3

We aren't going back to Disney until late September and would love to do this. Knowing that it's limited seating I don't want to miss out not knowing that I could have made reservations for it already. :sad2:

Chances are they may not run it in September because they also run the MNSSHP on certain nights during Sept and keep increasing the number of nights they have it into Oct. but ya never know! I'm hoping they do since I will be back again in Sept and if I like it in July I would def want to do it again. :thumbsup2

Anyone else having trouble getting to the last page of this thread? :confused3 Any time I try I get a server error, but can click on anything else within the DIS or anywhere else. I tried to follow the link to sign up for what day we're going, but it also gives me an error (probably coming from the original error). What board is it under? I couldn't find it on the restaurant board. Thanks!

I'm kicking myself for not seeing this sooner. Now, DW wants to go and there's no availability from august 17th to the 22nd. I guess I'll try the concierge at CSR.

I called last night to check on 8/17 for a party of 4...no luck...This morning around 10:30 I tried again, and guess what...available! Keep trying!

This will be the first night of our trip, and m-i-l will be with us for the day and evening. She has never seen wishes, so the dessert buffet will be our "dinner";), and her birthday gift. I was reluctant to specd the money at first, but I think it will be much more comfortable than sitting on a curb for 2 hours and then having other folks get right in front of us anyway when the time comes. No Spectro that night, but that's ok.

Just booked 8/28 today. I had wanted to do this on 8/23 but she couldnt get the system to let her book that day.

Tried to get rezzie, no luck they are full at this time, but thought it was funny, the CM who took my call kept telling me that the check in time was 5:30  No way are we hanging around there until fireworks with 3 kids under 8. I couldn't believe we would get a reservation, pay $80, and have it really be of no benefit to us. Why would we hang out there so long when the point was to have a special spot to relax and not have to arrive so early to get a good view!

Turns out, they also do a dinner reservation, so beware! If the CM is not on the ball, they could book you into something else that has nothing to do with the wishes buffet!

Also, the CM I spoke with told me he has never seen an event sell out so fast, he cannot believe that it hasn't been extended at least until Labor day. So, I will keep trying to book us until we leave, and then give walk up a shot when we are there. Good luck all! :thumbsup2
