MK Firework Dessert Party

I called this morning (around 11:00) for a rezzie for 6 on August 9th and was told it was booked. I just now called (same day, 4:15) and was able to get it! da:cheer2::cheer2: The CM did tell me though that it was a "possibility" that our party would be seated at separate tables. Fine with me, in fact the kids might prefer that!!

Moral of the story-- if at first you don't succeed, call back later!

I just booked this for the evening of August 3rd, it looks great and it is my birthday that day so that's even better and I figure a great way to celbrate with my family. Also I liked the idea of guaranteed view of fireworks without waiting outside.:wizard:
Important note:
When booking this event, it will show NO AVAILABILITY if the CM puts in your resort res # and notes that you have free dining. If they uncheck that option suddenly it is available.

Those of you who are getting turned away- next time you call back, ask them to check without your resort confirmation #. I spent about 30 minutes on the phone trying to get into this thing and the girl at one point said "hey, if I don't say you have free dining, suddenly you can all go." With free dining applied there was only one spot available and my husband, 6 year old and I would all have been split between 3 tables. (not sure why) Now we are all booked on our ideal night at one table.

This seems like a creepy side effect of free dining, especially for an event we have to pay for anyways.
This morning when I tried to book, I didn't give them my resort reservation number and everything was full. But just a few minutes ago, I called and did use my reservation number and got in! :confused3

Not that I'm complaining!! But just when you think you have it figured out-- bam!

thanks! can't wait to hear what you think! I arrive in Disney next wednesday! Can't wait!!!!!:banana: Two weeks from tonight I'll be at the dessert party! :goodvibes

ME TOO....Can't wait to see pics and hear how it was....so excited for Aug.21.:cheer2:

Still hoping the extend it! I don't see why they couldn't do it in non mnsshp nights. End of Sept early Oct would work for me!

We must plan on being there the same time! Sept. 27th - Oct. 4th ? I agree about the NON-MNSSHP nights and I'm hoping for a Dessert party for Sept. 29th. (I think that's the date... don't have my itinerary in front of me):goodvibes

Our family went the first night and it was ALOT of wonderful desserts. The food was incredible and the beverages (iced teas, lemondade, coffee, and water) were all ice-cold with ice on the side. There were many individual cheescakes with various fruit, creme brulees (sp?), zebra domes, fresh fruits, truffles, and the most wonderful HUGE choc dipped strawberries. :goodvibes

My DH wanted to try it so that for once he had a seat for the fireworks, but to see them, you must go to the railing and they insist you may not move chairs over to it. This was harder on the elderly and some young children who couldn't see unless someone held them up. The chairs would have been nicer.:sad2:

While the price was a bit steep, with my DS (21) I am afraid they lost money on the deal! The only other complaint was that it was on the Noodle Terrace, and there wasn't much air moving, so it did become a bit stuffy, but we just kept drinking fluids and it was fine for the 1.5 hours

Has anyone been able to confirm conf # through the Disney Website, like you can do for dining resv #'s. I tried but was unable, didn't know if it was because it was a prepay or not, just curious why I couldn't check it that way or if anyone else has tried.

You can't book this online either, so I wouldn't expect to view it online just yet. I'm sure they are working on adding it though, but it might be awhile as we all know that Disney's tech dept. ain't the fastest one out there - LOL!

We just did this on 6/28 :). I had called the IPO before our arrival on 6/26, and they said there was no availability on any nights we were in WDW. I called again on my own, and received the same answer. On 6/27 we were in MK, and I noticed a cast member near the podium where they check people in for this. I started chatting with her, mentioned how I had been unable to get an ADR for 2 people for any night of our trip. She told me to wait and got a mgr., who booked us for the next night (which happened to be my 50th birthday, so it was perfect :)).
The castmember I spoke with said they do have walk up spaces available, but they're gone by 6:00 pm. (this is when Wishes is scheduled for 10, so it is probably earlier when Wishes is earlier).

This buffet was amazing:lovestrucI especially loved the pistachio creme brulee and the mango shooters:lovestruc. The viewing area was perfect, and there was a photopass photographer there, so we have some amazing pictures of us with the castle in the background as well as Spectromagic.

Went to the party last night (July3rd) to see the Celebrate America Firework... It was Wonderful. We got there around 745 for our 8 00 reservation and stood in line, there was 2 CM walking down the line 1 was checking your confirmation # and the other was giving out wrist bands... Right at 8 they started letting people in they helped you walked around and find your table which is marked with your name. We where on the far left front row with a perfect view of the castle. like others have said once the fireworks start you get up and move to the rail but it was not crowded and every one around us could see perfect my DM was tired and didnt feel like standing the whole time so she was able to sit at our table and still see everything with no problem.
there was so much to choose from and something for everyone and everything was very fresh. The chocolate strawberries where huge and wonderful. there where 3 types of truffels, berry tarts bannana creme tarts, raspberry tart, chocolate chip cookies, brownies, mango shooters, creme brulee, mini cheesecakes, and so many other things. For drinks they had Water, lemonade, 3 types of tea (i could not find a sweet tea but they had sugar) and coffee.
After the fireworks we sat around for a bit waiting for the firework crowd to die down on Main street I noticed that they had restocked the tables during the fireworks and we where still able to get stuff. as we where leaving A CM Member told us if we wanted to come back to watch spectro we could and they would still have the drinks set up for us as long as we keep our band on. I thought that was nice not sure if they do that everynight but its a added bonus if they do...
All in all I would say it was well worth the money and would do it again in a heart beat. :dance3:

I have a question. . . is a mango shooter something that contains alcohol? I'm curious because I wasn't aware that Zebra Domes contained alcohol until I bought some on this past trip in June. We were at Mara getting a quick service lunch and, as part of the dining plan, I picked Zebra Domes because I've read nothing but rave reviews about them. Problem is, I've been sober for almost 13 years now, so that wasn't a good thing to find out by surprise. Just curious because I don't want any more surprises!

I just found this thread and have not had a chance to read through it yet, so sorry if this has already been answered, but...

Has anyone heard if they plan to extend this past August 28th? I was reading a review from someone (on another site) that went to the Dessert party and had spoken to the chefs there. The chefs were already talking about changes to the menu that would be made with the different seasons! :confused3 And someone else on this site said that they called and got a reservation for August 29th! :confused3

We aren't going back to Disney until late September and would love to do this. Knowing that it's limited seating I don't want to miss out not knowing that I could have made reservations for it already. :sad2:

We won't be back to WDW until October and then again in December. I'd LOVE to be able to attend this dessert party and also hope that WDW will extend it past the end of August. I'm hoping the summer experience was a test and that Disney finds that it is popular and will extend into the future.

Maybe we should all call and ask if they are extending it past the summer.

Thanks for posting this info. You've given me hope since I have not been able to book this for our upcoming trip in August.

For those of you who have attended the Dessert Party...Can you see Spectromagic from the Dessert Party? I thought I saw Robo post a reply saying you could not see the Spectromagic Parade.

I am hoping for an extension to September 21st when Spectro is at 8pm and Wishes is at 9pm.

We don't plan on going to the MK every night, so I am going to have to keep calling for an ADR for this one, hopefully something will come through or we can check in at the podium the days we are at MK.

Wondering though if it will be too hot in August to enjoy these rich desserts! :goodvibes
