MK Electrical Parade -- just temporary?

I was looking on the DISBoards to see what nights various parades and night time shows would be. Is the MK Electrical Parade only for the summer? We were hoping to see this. We won't be going to March (schedules not posted that far out yet), but January shows Spectromagic instead? That will be fine instead (I think we've seen this before, though), but I was just curious.

They moved it out from California for the summer. The last scheduled performance at WDW is Aug 14.

People whose opinions I trust on this board say that it's possible that Main Street Elec Parade could last longer than summer, but speculation is that if Disney will extend this parade, it would only be into the Fall based on crowd reaction, etc. With the fall extension being a stretch, March seems HIGHLY unlikely.

We have seen it many times over the past 11 days of being here, and we totally prefer Spectro. The crowds don't seem to be that enthused about it either. We've heard some comments, and seen people walk away from viewing. Perhaps they don't care for parades though, so it's hard to judge this, but with Spectro, there is an element of familiarity to it, and so for us, Spectro is nostalgic. Even though we saw Electric parade when we were younger, Spectro is more special to us, and we like the actual parade better.

We hope everyone who desires to see the parade can see it, but we can't wait for the return of Spectro!

Nope, the one on the water is the Electric Water Pageant. The Main Street Electric Parade is similar to the Spectro Magic Parade, and runs in the Magic Kingdom.

Just to add spice to the mix,
I think the Electrical Parade stands a good chance of running at least a year.

Only time will tell.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I have to say how magical it was for the first parade my little girl ever saw at WDW to be the exact same parade I saw as my first one at WDW when I was a little girl

Robo, I sure hope you are right!

jvattes, that must have been magical indeed! My kids saw all of the Disney World parades over the last two years, but it will still be special for me if they are able to see the Main Street Electric parade when we visit in August.
