MK Dinner or Disney Springs?

We have one park day after a cruise. We are going to the MK. None of the dinner options are great. We have a reservation at the Plaza right now but I am not thrilled. Skippers Canteen doesn't appeal to us and we don't want character dining.

Would you keep the Plaza or take the time to go to Disney Springs (or somewhere else)? We do have a rental car and are staying at BLT. We hope to take a break from the park at some point to check into the hotel, etc before returning to the MK for the evening.

Kona used to be our go to but the new menu looks awful.

Is California Grill at the Contemporary an option? That would be my recommendation- it gets you over to the Contemporary to check in, then you're right there to eat, and it's a quick walk back to MK.

I would go with either Wave at CR or Grand Floridian Café. Both get you out of the park, provide really good meals and neither will break the bank to eat there.

I second walking over to the Wave at the Contemporary.

Or have you looked at Tony's? It's Italian and usually solid, not outstanding, but not terrible either. No worse than a trip to the Olive Garden.

Take a boat ride over to Wilderness Lodge might be an option? Try Whispering Canyon Cafe? Or Storybook Dining at Artist Point?

I agree with the others. Going all the way to DS is going to take a lot of time out of your day. I would look at the menus at all of the restaurants at GF, CR, Poly, WL and Ft. W. We really like the Wave, GF Cafe and WCC. Trail's End is good too and it's fun to visit Ft. W.

If I had only one day to eat dinner at Disney, hands down I'd be at Poly for Ohana.

Since you plan to go back to MK another vote for checking menus at the resorts restaurants in that area. If you were just going to BLT after dinner I would vote DS. But just the commute time from MK TO DS and back gets a no vote. ( btw we enjoy DS).

I'd either opt for QS inside MK or head over to GF for Grand Floridian Cafe or WL for Whispering Canyon. DS is great, but that's a lot of travel time if you only have 1 day.

We went to the Wave once and it was amazing! The food was extra yummy and the service was top notch. We enjoyed that it was quiet enough that we could have a normal conversation without competing with the noise in the restaurant.

If you want a more upbeat atmosphere, try 'Ohana. We loved the food there too! We had reservations there during the MK fireworks and it is a perfect place to enjoy them. At the time, our children were younger and they didn't really like the noise of the fireworks so it was great! They pipe the music in and you have a great view without the noise.
