I've been reading some not stellar LTT reviews recently and am considering trading it for the new Skipper Canteen. My family is fine with more adventurous dining so that is a non-issue. Just making sure we're not really missing out by skipping LTT.

Thanks!

I asked a similar question just recently regarding these 2 in particular and all seemed to suggest SC over LTT, so we have decided Skipper Canteen it is lol!

We haven't been to SC yet but we love LTT. Next trip we're doing LTT for lunch (I'm fond of their Colony Salad) and then SC for dinner. We tend to do more table service now that our DD is grown since it gives us a nice rest in an otherwise long and tiring day.

I love Liberty Tree Tavern! I've done dinner and lunch and enjoyed both. If you haven't try lunch for their desert the ooey gooey toffee cake, it's the best desert on property in my opinion.dinner is also good because it's an all you can eat thanksgiving dinner. Skippers canteen I've heard mixed reviews. We chose LTT over sc this past trip and we were very happy!!!

We have done LTT 2x in the last 2 years. Both for lunch and "off season" (September and May). Both times we have had a not so good experience (server/kitchen slow, waited 60+ min past ADR, food cold or meh). Last trip, we tried Skipper Canteen for the first time (dinner). I was hesitant to try because of all of the mixed reviews. Surprisingly, we LOVED it! It was one of the better meals of the trip. We had the shu mai for appz, char sui pork, and duck noodle bowl, and kungaloosh for desert (DS' had the kids mac n cheese). The only food item we didnt care for was the bread service at the beginning with the honey sauce. The service was great, friendly, and entertaining. The atmosphere was calming and felt like an escape from the hustle and bustle of the park. I dont think you would be missing our on LTT- you can go out of the park for the same meal and better quality and service. I think SC would be a win anywhere.

We did a LTT Dinner during our visit in June and it was my wife's favorite meal of our entire stay! She thought that the salad and the pot roast were both amazing. We considered swapping it for SC based on everything I've read, but we were glad we didn't!

FWIW - our reservation was scheduled right at the start of dinner service and we didn't need to wait more than 5 minutes or so to be seated. All of our food was hot and our server was very attentive throughout our meal.

I have not been in many years and long to go back to the restaurant I remember next trip. I researched the bad reviews and the bulk seemed to be for the different format ..family style or similar at dinner. The lunch is much like it used to be and what I remembered. Such a pretty place..historical, darker, cool. Great respite from the heat..cant wait!!.
