MK Children's chicken tenders @CS???

After we finally decided to try the Dining Plan, I was revisiting some of the menus on deb's site. DS is basically a chicken tender or, possibly, beef hot dog eater at WDW and when I looked at the Children's Menus at Comubia Harbour House, Pinocchio's Village Haus and other CS spots in MK, I didn't see any chicken tenders listed. I noticed, for example, that CHH offered "chilled chicken and cheese", but no children's tenders, though they're on the adult menu. I appreciate the option for healthier choices, but with a picky eater, that's not always easy.

Has anyone recently run into this issue?

Thanks!

We were able to order an adult cheeseburger for DS at Cosmic Ray's. DH went through a different line though, so for all they knew I could have been ordering for DH while he ordered for DS in the other line. At any rate, I don't think the CS places care all that much if you order a kid meal or an adult meal.

so either DH, DS or I will have to order from the seemingly very limited children's menu, right?

We pretty much avoided those places. But I do know that the counter service places don't care who you are ordering the food for. Many times I went up to the counter myself and only ordered kids meals. No one asked to see my kid :teeth:
Have Fun...and don't worry I'm sure you'll find someplace you all like.

I think the Dining Plan gives you credits keyed for each person in your party: in other words, we're staying 7 nights, so [with 2 adults and 1 child] we get 14 adult counter service meals, 14 adult table service meals, 14 adult snacks and ALSO 7 child service counter meals, 7 child table service meals and 7 child snacks. So, unless DH or I want the chilled chicken cubes, we'd have to go somewhere else, I guess.

The CS places don't pay that close of attention. On 2 different occasions at 2 different places we ordered 3 adult meals and the CMs never questioned us. I don't think they track adult vs. kids - they just track credits in general. One of the times we got an adult CS meal for DS it was because I simply was not paying attention - I said "waffle platter" and they gave me an adult one.

I think you can get chicken nuggets at Cosmic Rays. But you're right about kids meals at the cs restaurants...they are very limited :headache:

You're right...the children's menus for CS are limited. We had a difficult time finding things for the children to eat. Next time, we are bringing peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Please avoid CHH...it was the worst dining experience I have ever had. I know other people like it, but my DS, 6, even said, "I'm glad you said I don't have to eat this...it looks gross!!" And he had the macaroni and cheese.

Chicken tenders are widely available though. If that is what your DS wants, you should be able to find them. Whether or not you want to eat in the same location, I can't guarantee. We didn't have much luck finding CS that we enjoyed...with the exceptions of Tusker House in AK and the fish and chips stand in Epcot, in England.

Our Dss didnt like the chicken strips anywhere except Crystal Palace and that place across from Haunted Mansion, I think.
