MK changed their hours until 12am

WOW! We will be there that day also! We are SO going to it! Well, at least me! How fun will this be. Man, to have a chance to just walk onto rides is worth it alone.

DW wants to know if the restaurants and snack places stay open also? I'm thinking by 2 we'll be getting hungry again.

This is great. Hope to see some of you all there! :yay:

I have stayed at these EMH twice and loved it both times. We walked onto virtually every ride including dumbo and peter pan! I have also had some of the best character interactions. This past May I was lead around part of Fantasyland by goofy, and dale and pluto both tried to take me (and im 19). Dale and Pluto started to walk away while still holding onto my arm the CM with them told them that they had to come back and to get my number and call me later. When this happened Pluto bent over and walked back to his spot all sad! It was one of the best memories I have from that trip, and we still joke about it:yay:

I would try to take advantage of EMH's because like everyone else has said it is a great time to go on some of the rides that have longer wait times during normal hours. Plan on taking a nap maybe the day of after lunch to try and rest up and/or the same for the following day if the kids are tired! At any rate, ENJOY! princess:

Against my better judgement, I changed my plans around so my kids can experience a late night EMH at MK. It's for Sat 11/5. MK was supposed to close at 10pm, then we would be there until 1am. Well, Disney just changed the hours and MK is now closing at midnight, so EMH is until 3am!

Really, tell me what to expect!! I was planning on sleeping in a bit, and then we have ADRs for 1900 at 11am. I thought that would late enough to hold us until a 1am park night. Now, I'm thinking the crowds are going to be way too insane, and then our next park day at DHS will be shot (DHS closes at 7pm).

The kids are tweens and wanted to stay up late at MK, but I don't think they know how much this is going to be a possible nightmare, not to mention that we probably won't even make it to DHS the next day.

YIKES! What would you do?

BTW, the kids are 13, 12, 11, and me.

We have stayed that late in the past -- the parks end up getting so quiet, it is a very unique situation.

At age 11, our granddaughter managed to stay up and keep going. However, she was definitely dragging the next day.

I have a dd15 and when she was 8 we closed DLR at midnight and let me tell you if the park wasn't closing we wouldn't have left. Kids love staying up late. It's like a treat. Like New Years but better because it's WDW.:santa:

The MK Bakery should still be open. I know we have grabbed a cinnamon roll around 2:30am during EMH in the summer months. If memory serves, the Dole Whip stand was open really late as well (plus a couple of popcorn carts throughout the park, but not all of them. I believe it was 1 in Frontierland and 1 in Tomorrowland).

HTH!

be sure to get a picture!!!
On your way out down Main Street stop by one of the clocks and get a picture with everyone around the clock showing the time and the castle in the background!! I have a few, but none on this computer. :thumbsup2

FWIW EMH in MK 'til 3:00am is one of my favorite things in the World!!

Yes it does! Thank you. Man, a cinnamon roll sounds awesome. I have heard a lot about the Dole Whips too. Guess I'll have to do both! It's a vacation after all! :lmao:

Thanks again!

Cool suggestion! It brings up a question. Do the Disney PhotoPass photographers stay out that late too? We'll have our digital camera, but I've already pre-purchased the PhotoPass and want to see exactly how many pics I can get on a cd! :lmao:

Thanks in advance for the help.

Sorry I don't remember if there were any PhotoPass photographers around late. I have not done the prepay cd in a few trips so I don't do as many PhotoPass photos.
Hopefully someone else remembers seeing one or looked and did not see them.

I kind of think they will still be out near the castle area until at least midnight or so. I remember going to see Mickey at 2:30am last summer and there was NOT one in there anymore. But the CM was happy to take one of us on our camera.

Thanks Cinderumbrella and patink. We have 4 days before we leave f or Florida and I'm not thinking straight. We'll have our camera too. Duh. Man, the closer to the departure date, the worse the brain gets. Thanks again for all the help!

We've done it twice in the past and they are the most memorable nights we've ever spent at WDW.

Both time we were there with our kids (teens) and our parents (60 somethings). Everyone still talks about it. I would recommend it as a "must do"

We will be there on this date as well and can't wait!!!!!! We did this last year with DD(8) and she did fantastic. We are planning on spending the day at AK since we have ressies at Tusker for brkfst. We also have a ressie for Chef Mickey's at 6:25 that night, I hope it holds us over. I'm sure that we will be tired the next day but we are planning on being at Epcot and don't have to be there until 2:25 for a ressie at LC so we can sleep in for a while.

Honestly, there is nothing like walking out of MK at 2 or 3am, when the park is almost empty. :)

I can't really describe it.

How late do the kids want to stay? If they want to stay later, rearrange plans for the next day and don't plan on doing anything until after lunch. :)

I know when we go, my kids love it, because Mom is letting them stay up wayyyyy later than their normal bedtimes. :lmao:

I feel the same way!:thumbsup2

We live in California. When we are in WDW we stay on California time. My kids wake up about 10 am (7am CA time) we do a small breakfast. Then head out to the parks. We do a lunch at about 2pm (11 am CA time). We usually do a sit-down dinner at about 9pm (6pm at home). After that we hit the park for extra magic hours. My kids love it! :)

I love the late EMH. I've only done the 1am and 2am closings. Wish I was there for a 3am closing.

Depending on what your evening is like before your MK day - I would get everyone up early and get to MK for opening. Collect FP and ride as many rides as possible before your breakfast. Depending on how everyone is feeling either head back to MK for a few more hours or go back to the resort for a nap. Use the FP in the evening when you return as it will be busy until later in the evening.

It's also daylight savings that night (morning LOL). Extra hour to sleep BTW......:goodvibes

OMG, I just realized that is the day we are going to be there too. I was hoping to extend into EMH as well, but my kids are 8 and 5. No way they are going to last that late. Will it be busier until midnight now, or will the lateness of the hour think some of the crowd anyway? Why did WDW extend the hours? Do they think it's going to be a busier day so they are spreading the wealth so to speak?

Also, if MK is open until 3 am for EMH but we set the clocks back at 2 am, does that mean it's actually open another hour until we get to 3 am EST?

We love these nights! Some of our best memories of MK are of those moments.
