There's a large house looking building on the hill across from Columbia Harbour House and next to Small World and my husband and I have been debating the last three years what it is. Did it used to be the skyway to Tomorrowland? It looks far to elaborate to be that... It looks like something that was a major attraction some time ago, like Snow White's original home or something like that. Help! Its driving us crazy!!

Yes, it was the skyway to tomorrowland....I'm suprised they haven't found a use for it yet.

Yes, it is the skyway. Now I am wondering if what I heard is true. Story is a worker got killed while doing a repair on the skyway. They claimed he died in front of It's a Small World... I miss the skyway. I understand this is the reason Disney took it out. Can anyone confirm this for me???? PLEASE,

MsDisney23...yes a worker did get killed about 4 years ago while working on the skyway. From what I understand he was over near Tomorrowland. That was not the entire reason for the Skyway closing.People threw things and spit while on the ride.It became too much of a complaint and hazard for Disney to keep it open.

Of the castle you got when riding the Skyway.

The last couple of times I've been by that building, Snow White was posing for pictures there as part of a character meet. So at least it has found some good use!

I heard that rumor also Cindy. I wonder how true it is.

On our last trip my DH and I were sitting outside of IASW right on the benches under the old skyway house. It was amusing to see how many people stopped and looked at it and then at their map trying to figure out what that "house" was! I do hope they turn it into something, a restaurant might be nice.

I read that the resturant rumor is false. The Haunted Mansion building (behind the mansion facade) takes up too much room. I am not sure if its true. I personaly would like to see something done with the old Skyway house.

The reason the Skyway at Disneyland closed is because of laws that became effective requiring equal access to the handicapped. Since, on this attraction, that was nearly impossible (and way too expensive), the decision was made to close the attraction permanently.

Those same laws, to a lesser degree, spelled doom for the submarines at DL.

I assume that the mirror attractions in FL closed for the same reasons...

is that really a law
is there a handicapped teacup???
how do they get on the carosel

It is regularly used now as a Meet and Greet for Snow White.

From my April '03 trip...........
