MJ Attraction at EPCOT

I saw captain EO for the first time this year. I am a child of the 80s and 90s. I love MJ. It was terrible watching him turn into a weirdo shut in but that was the price of his fame. Probably alot like the older generation watching elvis on the decline.

MJ was a born entertainer. I will admit when I saw MJ in the captain EO movie I let out a scream of joy. Was a bit overwhelmed with emotion. Despite his failings later in life he did amazing things for the world. He was an undeniable force.

The movie was NEW to me. I felt privileged to see it the way it was intended. I was once again basking in his awesomeness. I even bought a captain EO pin to stick on my lanyard. I was happy to see him again when he was at his best. Thank you EPCOT.:goodvibes

He didn't have 'sleepovers' with little boys...

Yeah but he and his fellow bandmates are terrible examples for children because of their use of drugs and crazy, sexfilled lifestyles. So how are their confessed past deeds worse than the speculative ones of MJ?

P.s. I'm a huge aerosmith fan. I'm just trying to make a point.

Don't even waste your time. It might have been great in its hey day but its beyond horrible now. You can't even use it as a rest spot because the seats shake.

I can't believe Disney allowed the Imagination Pavilion to become what it has. They really need to fix Figment, open the second floor again and come up with a new show for that theater.

Captain EO needs to GO!

So in your mind the idea that a band would (gasp) indulge in drugs and crazy, sex filled lifestyles is equal to the possible abuse of children? Of any gender. I'm sorry, but the weirdness of the incidence mentioned, (and not really denied, check the wording on some of his answers), points to some severe perverted behavior and being Michael Jackson does not give him a free ticket to do that to kids. Even if sex didn't happen it is still beyond weird and certainly questionable. Nice going parents. Way to protect your kids.

I liked MJ's music too. But it's like saying...Hey, Hitler was responsible for the mass murder of millions, but he sure was a good speaker and not a half bad artist.

Again, I'm sorry, but even if you take out the molestation part of the story and decided that it wasn't happening, what remains is enough to say that paying homage to him in a place like the Disney Parks, filled with children and supposedly decent adults, is inappropriate and distasteful.

What he achieved was admirable...what he turned into was not. The first doesn't erase the second.

The original Figment, along with the second floor reopening, would be a great move. Captain EO was a first and is a bit of history. Too bad, it's wasn't brought back with "lasers, smoke, etc.". Although, some still wouldn't appreciate it. I'd hate to see it, completely go away.

First of all, Hitler was a terrible artist he failed the Austrian fine arts academy twice

That fun fact of the day behind us, I'm not saying their equal I'm saying their both wrong. And I get how the rock n roll lifestyle works and I honestly don't care what said band does. But I'm saying that its not s great example for kids to look up to (I honestly don't believe this statement; I'm just going there because I find singling mj out is a little rediculous).

The MJ thing is comparable to when the NFL banned Gary glitters rock n roll part 2 because I believe Mr glitter was convicted of similar things that mj did. I found that redicilous because I'm pretty sure that the nfl plays songs by singers/bands with quite checkered pasts.

My point is you shouldn't way Michael Jackson doesn't belong in Disney when with s little digging I can probably find people who did disturbing things in their past that doesn't represent a family park additude. Like a pp Tim Allen was a coke addict or something of that nature, so I suppose buzz lightyear doesn't belong in a Disney park anymore.

Art is subjective, but Hitler was in fact a very good artist. Have you ever seen his work? The reason he failed out of art school was because he couldn't draw faces. It was the one area he struggled with, which probably is reflection of his character.

I watch a lot of History Channel.

I always learn something new on the DIS not necessarily Disney related apparently :rotfl2:. But hey, they kind of skimmed over his art career in depth to teach us about the horrible acts he commited later in history class so I sort of assumed about his artistic skills.
