Can anyone tell me, how long does the mixology class take? 1/2 hour...hour??

Thanks in advance!

My wife and son took this during our 2015 Fantasy Christmas cruise and they both LOVED it. It lasted about an hour. Each one got the chance to mix up one of the featured drinks. Now my son wants to start doing this at our house while entertaining. I told him we would go broke trying to stock our liquor cabinet with all the fancy liqueurs and booze just to make one drink.

Thanks for the quick replies! I was looking at some of the navigators and it looked like it was only a 1/2 hour. I wondered how that could be!

Thanks again!!

There are different types of alcohol tastings now being offered on board.
There are two ways to book these classes;
1. If you are in a group (Group Cruise meet) you can email DCL 30 days prior to sailing and reserve for your group.
A minimum of 25 guests to a maximum of 35 guests/adults per class/session (Depending on which class/tasting), and the appropriate fee per person and each participant will be charged automatically to their onboard account whether they show-up or not.
You will need to provide each guests full name and stateroom number or reservation number at least 2 weeks prior to sail date. You can also request for the time and dates you prefer.

2. On embarkation day head to the Guest Services and ask them what alcohol tasting they offer on board and they will give you a ticket. It is also indicated in the navigator.

Loved mixology. It is a good hour!

We have done it private and with the ship scheduled time and both were great but the private we actually all got behind the bar to make 1 set of drinks for all!!

Awsome

Actually, it depends on the class - we did the Tequila/Margarita Mixology last week on the Magic and it was just over 30 minutes. And let me say, 3 big shots and 2 Margaritas in 30 minutes is a LOT!

I know it was that time bc we had to meet/beat our kids at Tune Trivia 45 minutes after our class started! And Tune Trivia is slightly more challenging after 5 drinks btw...

I think there might be slightly different drinks in different mixology classes. We had a couple fruity drinks. I'm honestly having trouble remembering. I did the Stem to Stern wine tasting class first and then Mixology immediately afterward. I'm surprised I was able to find my stateroom after that.

The bartender talked us through making the Paradise Punch. They then handed out drinks to everyone that they had already made up. Then we made a mojito, another couple drinks I can't remember, and we finished by making B52 shots.

When I did it on the Dream, we made a mojito, a cosmo, a tequila sunrise, and a B-52 shot.

As I recall :rolleyes1 our Mixology class made:
Muddled Basil Martini (gin)
Japanese Ice Tea (rum, vodka, triple sec)
Champagne Cocktail (champagne)
Texas Margarita (tequila)
and a choice of shots - Kahlua; Crème de Cacao white; Bailey's; or Tiramisu (rum).

I've done it twice on the Dream - 2 different sailings.

Mixology #1 was cosmopolitans, classic mojito, sunken treasure, b-52 shot and a non-alcoholic drink (it was a group class and about 1/4 of them were non-drinkers who came along to hang out)
Mixology #2 was captain's mai tai, classic margarita, mango mojito, chocolate martini and b-52 shot

So 2 classes...same ship, about 10 months apart, and 1 overlapping drink.

Our mixology class was in Skyline and it was very small. Just us and another couple. We each got at least one turn making one of the 5 drinks. It was really educational and fun.
We made a Luigi (an Italian Martini) , an Elder Julep (mint Julep with Elderflower), Agave Kiss (tequila based mixed drink), Hazel Berry (layered vodka drink) and a shot - which I don't remember because well...I drank the other 4 drinks before the shot!

On the Fantasy last November I did both the Tequila tasting (very well timed at 4:30pm) and the Whisky/Scotch tasting at 10pm (a bit late to have four shots in 30 minutes). Both were very interesting, and I had more than enough alcohol to keep me happy. I would strongly recommend these type of classes, as they are a lot of fun.

I've never heard of Amari tastings. Please elaborate! Thank you :)
