Mixed Point Use Question

I am sure this haas been asked many times, but I could not locate it.

Can I mix different resort points to make a reservation at the 7 month window? i.e. If I need 30 points, can I take 20 OKW points and 10 BCV points to reserve the room?

Yes, that can be done. You would need to transfer the points to one of the contracts to do so. If possible, just reserve as many nights from one contract as points will allow and then complete the other nights from the 2nd contract. MS will link the two together for you and it will work like one reservation.

i just recently combined some OKW and BWV points to book 1 night at BWV once i was past the 7mo window.

MS did not say a thing to me about transferring points between the contracts.
(i didn't expect them to mention it. btw, i have the same main contract#, just different add-on sub-contract suffixes)

anyway, out of curiosity, i got a copy of my Points Activity Sheet from MS.
i had assumed that MS would do a transfer of the OKW points to my BWV contract behind the scenes to book this 1 night at BWV.

however, after deciphering the Points Activity Sheet, i see they did not do that... instead they deducted a bunch of points from my OKW contract, and a bunch of points from my BWV contract... both referencing the same ressie#.

there is absolutely no record of any transferring between accounts.

so, it looks like MS doesn't even need to transfer points around in this case.
they just seamlessly combined the points.
(unless there is some other even more behind the scenes Points Activity Sheet where they record the transfer?? )

If it's the same contract number I don't think they even have to transfer the points. If it's no the same contract (different use years) they will need to do a transfer.

Then it should not be a problem as I bought a resale at OKW, then added on from BCV.

We have points at OKW, BW, and BCV. I have never had a problem making a reservation in the 7 month window at any of the resorts. My use year is the same for all points. I only have to tell MS which points I want to use when I make the reservation. Hope this helps.

So let me get this straight. If I currently have a ressie at VWL for this Dec. 28-Jan. 2 and I am using VWL points and want to switch at the 7 month window to my BCV, I can do this and not have to borrow BCV points?

skorpie, i'm not sure i understand your question.

if you want to switch to stay at BCV instead of VWL, then if there is availability, you can just use those same VWL points to book BCV.
is that what you were asking?
this doesn't have anything to do with mixing points though... so maybe i'm not interpreting your question right?

You can't just switch, the ressie much be available because you will need to cancel and rebook to use the BCV points.
