Well, Cheryl, I would be, if I was actually getting some...

...real decorating advice. :teeth:
Well, you posted on the wrong thread for that. On the other hand, as PJ found out, if you start a standalone serious thread, the Nuts attack it too so you're pretty much out of luck.

Rob, what remarkable restraint!

Here's a lovely figurine:

Yep, we're like moths to a light...

Haven't you noticed I never start threads? It would degenerate much too quickly because of us...well, degenerates.

Don't you mean "a spot of tea," Your Majesty?

Well...the last time a mummered 'spot of tea' these cheeky monkeys treated me to an unpleasant surprise.
Now whatever do you Nuts think was on this plate to startle my Britainnic Majesty?

Who are you calling a cheeky monkey?

Hiya, Jonesey & Squiddy...

Sorry I've been a bit AWOL the last few days. I have brought in some new projects into the office the last couple of weeks - none of them particularly big, but getting all of them far enough along before my vacation next week is where I've been at. I also mentioned the potential big state projects a week or so back - the state building committee met last week and approved it (just the agenda for the fiscal year's building budget was 64 pages long), and now it's down to the finance subcommittee to find all the pennies, nickels and dimes for all that work. Nothing's been officially announced, but a fly on the wall told us (our firm) that we should be happy with the projects awarded to us... We'll know officially in about a week once the budget is out of the finance subcommittee.

On a more personal note, I’m going to be a serious Road Warrior over the next couple of weeks. First leg of the journey... Late next week is the state AIA (American Institute of Architects) convention in Nashville. It’s a four day convention but I’m only signed up for attending one day. It'll be at the Opryland convention center. Last time I was at Opryland was in '98 - at one of my former places of employment was a departmental meeting for the whole design / construction departments - we had a "booze cruise" on the riverboat one night that I don't really remember much of... So that's the Nashville leg... Then I’ve got to drive solo to Noblesville IN for my buddy’s “Welcome Home” party on 7/28 – he’s just back in the U.S. from Iraq. I have a feeling numerous beers will be drunk, and stories to be told (I can already tell you I will not be a designated driver that night)... Sunday morning(ish) will be the drive back to Tennessee. Then we have our “secret” WDW trip (a surprise trip for my son’s birthday)…

I think the best way to convey this business is to tally the mileage over the course of a week’s time (give or take a day…)

Thursday 7/26 early am – Maryville TN to Nashville TN – 187 miles (solo)
Thursday 7/26 late pm – Nashville TN to Maryville TN (home) – 187 miles (solo)
Friday 7/27 pm – Knoxville TN (leave from work) to Noblesville IN – 381 miles (solo)
Sunday 7/29 am – Noblesville IN to Maryville TN (home sweet home) – 402 miles (solo)
Monday 7/30 am – Maryville TN to WDW (home sweet-sweet home) – 634 miles
Friday 8/3 pm – WDW to Maryville TN – 634 miles

Total: 2425 miles.

Yes, I’m getting a rental.

A normal week of travel for me is maybe 350 miles. Most of that is in our daily commute.

Wow! GoDaddy you are a ramblin' man!
That's a lot of miles! Do we get a full TR? :cool1:
Just hire a limo for the Welcome Home party.
It's always good to make sure the driver can lift at least a couple of hundred lbs of dead weight, in case bar stool to bench seat services are required!

Okay, I won't send congrats on the state contracts, yet!
I am supertstitious about the timing of congrats--but it all sounds so exciting! :cheer2:

That's what I was thinking, except for the whole week! Or at least a driver. Get portable internet service and think how much DISing you could get done as your driver takes the wheel for you.
