Mixed Nuts Part 2

Actually, I've never driven on a major thoroughfare (not experiencing heavy traffic) at less than 50 MPH--it was, as they say, an experience!

That's pretty good actually. My average speed is 80 MPH:cool2:
Anyone want me to pick them up?

BTW, good to see everyone here!! Nice to sign on and see life.
Even Miss Gothic came out from under her chair!

Marking down in my travel book to email Keith with airport info. I do hope your vehicle of choice is a white limo. It's my prefereence. Thanks Keith.

Not a problem at all.....and you are right..my vehicle of choice is a White Limo

However when you arrive look for this vehicle
Gremlin2.jpg

My vehicle of choice is just five numbers and the bonus number away....

Oh and if everyone comes in at the same time we can tie Rob to the roof, it would be like riding in the limo looking out the sun roof

Well, pink IS my favorite color.

I'll take one too, if those numbers work out for ya
;)

Keith, you are too funny!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Oh, are you coming with us to Cal next summer Rob? Maybe we can share Keith's limo service.;)
I honestly don't know. As I said, Texas is what we're really looking at right now (none of the kids have been to Texas -- two have been to SD/LA that can remember and one that was too young to remember that trip) BUT the biggest thing I'm scratching my head over is WHEN? I don't remember your dates but I don't know when my household would do it between baseball, football, and basketball seasons and I think DS14 is old enough now (9th grade) that we would like to avoid taking him out of school for a full week or more. UGH!

San Diego in August wouldn't be bad at all and I could tolerate a few days of the Anaheim/LA heat. Texas (Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio) in August just doesn't appeal to me. That would almost be like going to Orlando in August and, really, who wants to do that?

-- Rob

You are all blessed with my presence earlier than expected. We got out super early since it was the first day.

Unless you have concerns about safety being on foot, you walk. Always, if it is a legitimate option.

-- Rob
Walking was a perfectly legitimate option. I however elected to drive. Only because you said walk.

Actually it was because I wanted to leave at the last possible second since I'm tired from teaching all day.

Hop in, My peeps & I will drive you!

879845-Weird_Austin-Austin.jpg
Which one is you?

Yes, hot, very hot. Crowded, very crowded. Just ask PJ because I never complained about the heats or crowds, nope, not once:rolleyes1
Can I steal a line from a 2nd grader? "Is it opposite day?" You would figure that with it being me, Cheryl, and her son, the KID would be the one complaining. But NO, it was the grown woman!!!!! I felt like I had 2 children with me at all times. :sad2:

Your driving didn't scare me! Perhaps I am immune to fear after driving with my sister. :scared1: I don't think I can even remember how many accidents and speeding ticekts she's had.

That would almost be like going to Orlando in August and, really, who wants to do that?

-- Rob
Only stupid people. Oh, what's that? Cheryl and Elisabeth both did that? Well, they were blinded by love. They just HAD to see me. They didn't care about weather or crowds.

Yep, I think it's clear...Peej's ride is here!

down-aka-kilo2.jpg
I thought you and your peeps were going to give me a ride. Where'd this dude come into the picture?

Yes, well, I guess "blessed" IS one word for it.

Hmmph. Nice. Honestly, have I EVER led you astray? :scratchin I don't think I have but I'm sure you'll be glad to remind me if I ever did.

Lisa and Blue also went in August but at least after the crowds may have quieted some. Plus, well you know, they're Canadians so we can't hold them too responsible for their American travel decisions. :sad2:

Need I remind you that you're responsible for everything bad that happens in my life? I'm thinking some of those things may fall into the category of being "led astray." So yes, you have.

We should provide better guidance for our unknowledgable Canadian friends.

LOL! Yes, well, I guess if EVERYTHING must be blamed on me, you are probably correct. Really, the only time I could think of is back in February when you first met us and what I might have said then but even then I'm pretty sure I (and Elisabeth, both) warned you to get out while you still could. :rotfl:

I will admit that I got that warning. What was I thinking? I should have taken off running!!!!

I am going to bed now. Behave and I'll see y'all in the morning.

For Cheryl:

So you have something to post about when you get here. Because I am just that good of a friend!

How was the trip back to Ft. Myers?

Are you working a lot this week?

When are you going to email me those pictures?

How's KJ doing? Is school still going well for him? Tell him PJ says "hi and behave for your mother!"

lymi!

LOL PJ!

Boring, no one to talk to.

Not too much, still trying to get the house back in order.

When you start our trip report here on nuts.

So far so good, a little slow on the AR as usual. I'll tell him to behave for me from you, but he's already grounded for his Saturday night tantrum. Which was a joy to deal with tonight.

Have a good day tomorrow PJ!

Forgot to comment on this, and no offense to people that live in Texas, I'm sure there is somewhere in TX I would love, but...
Of all the states in the US, Texas has been my biggest disappointment each time. I've been three times in the last 4 years and they were my worst trips. Ironically the trips were Dallas, Houston/Galveston and San Antonio. And yes, Texas in August is worse than FL in August, I know I did it. I whined even more in TX than in WDW. lol

Our CA trip would be mid or late July. It will probably be mostly LA and surrounding areas and Yosemite.

Gee, no night time action??
Guess it's that time....

Okay, WTH is wrong with people? Are they blind, stupid, or both? I'm driving down the road this morning, leaving a few car lengths between me and the car in front of me like I'm supposed to. There's a truck up ahead in the oncoming lane, parked with his signal on, obstructing only about half of the lane, but the cars that need to get around will have to pull into my oncoming lane to get around. Now, isn't it in the driving manual that you wait until oncoming traffic has gone before attempting to pass? Well, they waited until the car in front of me went by, then just before I reached the truck, the idiots pulled out right into my lane, head-on. I slammed on my brakes, but because the speed limit is 45 and I'm on a downhill, of course the car doesn't stop on a dime. The lead moron hesitated, then came at me. Now I'm laying on my horn because I'm right there, the engine area right next to the cab of the stopped truck. He sneaks by with an inch or so to spare. So now I'm in the clear, right? Heck no - now the next idiot pulls out directly in front of me! He must have been blind and deaf, because not only was I hitting the horn, but I had my lights on - how do you not see that there is someone there? As he goes by, he clips the stopped truck, since he doesn't have enough room, but keeps going. By now I'm shaking and think, okay, no one else would be stupid enough to try to get through, right? I guess I'm the stupid one, because the NEXT car pulled out in front of me! It's not like they all came in a line, one after the other; they pulled up behind the stopped truck, waited, and pulled out AFTER the previous car had gone by and gotten back in his lane.

This is why I hate driving.

Yeah thanks Rob...you had to go and ask where she was :sad2:

I am so unmotivated today it is pitiful.
Yes, where is the Head Gherkin?
You can pass off your lack of motivation as cynical disdain, it's worked for me all these years!

I do think you'll feel more ambitious if you do some heiney shaking--where do you feel this booty display would be most appreciated?

george_lurking.gif

Are you sure it's safe to come out?

It's relatively safe, but is it wise?????

Yes!! Thankfully. I hate having to tell them not to have hot pink bra straps hanging @@.:confused3
I did have to tell one girl she has to wear pantyhose.
:scared:
I have to get my one of my lady's extensive tattoos covered--we are in the 1815/20's
Imagine being dressed similiar to a Jane Austen movie but with tattoos & bra straps :lmao:

I love you Jean...you are nice to me unlike the grumpy one.
:cutie:
Play fair Pixie! You know Rob isn't alll that grumpy!
:cutie:
In fact he's downright bubbly if you are practicing yr PrincessPixiePickle specialty!

That's pretty good actually. My average speed is 80 MPH:cool2:

I am the one wearing the leash
He's your Prince Charming, Peej!
True, he doesn't own a car, but then the bike has a certain juvenile charm?
Okay, I'll admit the ride to WDW may be on the looong side, but the MPG should be terrific!

...

Lisa and Blue also went in August but at least after the crowds may have quieted some. Plus, well you know, they're Canadians so we can't hold them too responsible for their American travel decisions. :sad2:

I believe Canadiens start out at a much lower core body temp than Americans (thus their lack of interest in conflicts, they are simply too cool blooded :cool2: ) so the ladies will take a bit longer to wilt in the blistering heat & life-draining humidity that is summer in FL :scared:
Then they will apologize for 'glowing' and wolf down prodigious amounts of LaBatts

See, if CT was as advanced as NH, you'd be packing & could justifiably blow these cretins away!
