I think we're going with "Cup of Cocoa" - a "midtone" tan/taupe. And this is the bedding I ordered today, in the black shown:

Well, she wouldn't let me do black velvet-draped crimson-painted walls dripping with crosses...

But this has a nice vintage/Victorian look to it, and in black, no less, so it's ever-so-slightly gothic. I love it.

Oh...yeah, I don't think I posted it. I'm a little embarrassed to be moving back home at my age. But my mother doesn't have a job and she has to put off the search because she's having surgery in early September...plus we really do need each other for emotional and financial support at the moment...and she's rattling around this big house by herself...still, I feel funny to be moving back home with my mother.

I don't think we're fighting. It's not my intention. I just like bats and I feel sorry for the poor misunderstood critters.

I'm sure it does feel strange but it sounds to me like it's as much, or more, for your mom than for you. Just do whatever works for your life Liz and don't worry about what others think.

I know...I just kind of feel like a loser. Like I couldn't hack it on my own. But we do need to pull together right now, and it will be easier in the long run if we end up moving away.

It's always funny when it's someone else.

We still haven't let my friend Jen off the hook about that time she got wasted about...oh, 13 or 14 years ago. Insisted that we take her to Dairy Mart because she wanted an "Arizona nice tree. With a straw." (a "nice tree" was an "iced tea")

We fixed it for her because she couldn't figure out how to open it. She took it, misjudged and got the straw up her nose, finally got it in her mouth, took two sips, then shoved it back at Keith and said, "Okay, that's good."
