Jodie I think you may have to explain what a Yorkshire pudding is. I love mine with loads of golden syrup - yummy!

Yorkshire pudding & Golden syrup?? Gross!!

I missed the pudding. Man! I should check in more often. That's it! No more laundry or getting the kids ready for school(only 1 more week). :hourglass

As always loved your trippie.

"I like to wonder about people so I wonder what the back story is- I mean who plans a Disney vacation in 3 days? And pulls their kids out of school to do it? From several states away? Are they made of money? Did they recently win the lottery? Is she trying to give them one last happy vacation before the dad announces he is running off with his secretary?"

Let me be Ms. Negative. When I see "people like that"...like they're wealthy & have money to burn...I always think, "Anyone can use a credit card. They're probably so in debt they can't sleep at night." I've been married to the Grand Wizard of the Cynical People in America Club for toooooo long... he's rubbing off...

Great report! It's obvious how much you love that little guy...looks like his dad picked a great partner to help raise him... Can't wait to read more!

OK, I am back...........to set the record straight.
\Backstage gal, interesting trip reports are easy when you distort the truth. Seriously, my baby is a great writer, but does "remember" or "report" things slightly inaccurate at times.

utahmom, I am a southern gentlemen, not a southern belle. That is one of the "reporting" errors. No where near 20 suits. Here goes: 1-navy one bought at outlets on a business trip, 2- tan bought at WayMart while at spring training with dad, 3- burgandy one my dad gave me because last time we visited I forgot to bring one, 4- blue one bought for under $5 from LL Beam, 5- orange one bought for under $10 from Polo, 6- floral one that used to me the only one I had. That is it, so whoever said that a woman says 20 and means 5 is dead on, and TM is waaayyyy off with the 17. In fact I am calling her out, name the other suits baby.

Ohhhhh! We just all figured you were a "my two moms" family with the "southern belle" remark. So you are indeed a dude? Either way, none of our beezwax (business). My DH has a very tight pair of short, short (did I mention tight?) multi-colored neon swim trunks he thinks are cool from 1984. Well, they're obscene now. If he were to put them on, he'd be arrested. Now, he has longish hawaiian print trunks that are dang cool. We just need to wax his chest and back, and we'll be good to go!

hi all- sorry no new installment- on a road trip and I am too tired.

T-daddy- off the top of my head I can think of 3 more suits (bright purple, white with flowers, blue with boats) and we are not even home, lets table this till we can go to the evidence... aka the file box filled with swim trunks-

ok chucklhd- you win!! your backstory for the mysterious mom who didn't seem to care if the kids were drowned by strangers is the BEST! it fits all the known facts too... :scratchin Perrier- you are undoubtedly right but the better the backstories the more fun it is to people watch.... Mumbler- who is Beastie and what make believe trip reports? Sounds like what UtahMama would call a "hot -n-juicy topic"... I am so out of the loop!

ok Clare and Jodie- now I am reallly confused- what is a pants (rubbish) day? I am guessing a like a Casual Friday at work.... or is that you wear pants? what do you wear on a non-pants day? ballgowns? Or does it mean take out the rubbish? And what is golden syrup? is that like maple syrup? or what?? see now I have new reason to DIS- to broaden my horizens, appreciate other cultures, discuss the merits of various high calorie sounding foods.... I am so sad about elevenses though...

This is my first post on disboards. I have been reading for awhile, but just discovered TRs on Sat. I read both of TMs and the $3600 one. I am now addicted. I have checked the boards numerous times today. Which other TRs are so well-written? Twinkie, you really have a gift. You make me feel like I am there.

I am anxiously awaiting the next installment. I feel like I know all of you!!! I will definitely be on the lookout for Lime Green at Disney on my Sept. trip.

the boats is the LL Beam one, so sorry. There has never been a white one with prints - must be an old beau, and you are right about the purple one, that makes 7, not 17. Don't know how I missed that one, I just wore it not more than two hours ago (that is the only reason you remembered that one). ;)

Check out Utah Mama's Big Fat trip report.

Ummm... suddenly feel like I'm in your kitchen with Twinkie Daddy around... :duck: I think I can see the swimsuits a flyin' (P.S. TD... watch out for the file box, sounds like's that'd leave a bump...)

Arghhhh!!!!! For three days I have lurked through this report only to be left with another cliffhanger.

Keep it coming, it's been fun.

P.S. T-daddy, hang in there bud.

I need to go on vacation more often cause I just came home to four more great additions and a new alter ego for TRMM. Who will he be next time ladies and gents? Now back to patiently waiting for more :rolleyes1

Beastie's TR is "the Delaney girls and their pet beast do Disney". This was a SUPER, UBER detailed trip report that pretty much had people going until they tried to post pics. They were so obviously photo shopped it ruined the illusion. It's still a good read though, I mean this had to have been based off of a real trip because the details are amazing. Either that or this guy/girl is a professional.
It made a lot of people angry, but if you go into it knowing it's a fairy tale maybe it won't bother you.

Now, is someone going to explain what Yorkshire pudding is?

Keep up the great work Twinkie's (yes both of you).

... I have a sneaking suspicion that while TM is away from home, TD is furiously throwing away the 14 other pairs of swim shorts. At least, that's what my hubby would be doing. Unfortunately for him (and me), he's worn the same pair of swim shorts since BEFORE we were married (almost 9 years ago), despite gaining 40+ pounds.

Golden Syrup - AKA Treacle is similar to Maple Syrup, probably just as diabetic-coma inducing but a bit more toffee (taffy) flavoured, a lot thicker and should NEVER be eaten with a savoury Yorkshire Pudding

Pants - Pants is a slang word for rubbish (not the garbage kind of rubbish, the rubbish kind of rubbish) like 'I have had a rubbish day at work today' and also Pants in the UK is ladies underwear not trousers, if you dont wear pants you get a draft, if you dont wear trousers you get arrested

Elevenses - I may start calling it that on a weekend when I eat mid-morning due to my mandatory Saturday morning lie-in (NO kids :teeth: ), kinda of like brunch for the English :goodvibes

And I thought Japanese was a hard language to learn!

...i'm way back in your epcot days..catching up..

i'm glad you decided to relive your 2000 experiences..cos it gives me the
chance to remember ours..[which i do prior to reading your updates]..
it's like going back in time...when i let my wife did all the planning..
"those were the good old days?'..well i did my own packing.. :wizard:

even 2000, there seem to be an established pattern where wives are
redirecting their family to disney, & their significant others, dragging their
feet? wish i could say i was different but that would be stretching the
truth..a lil. i gave my input..esp. on budget matters..however, often
fallin on deaf ears.. :earsgirl: ..only afterwards learning it was for my
own good.. :groom:

i wonder if disney is paying attention how important "mothers" are setting
up family vacations.. :magnify: ..you think they would be rewarding that
market booster.. :flower3: and yet i haven't heard of anything..not
even a mars bar on the pillow? ..of course when i do this just to say thank
you to my lil miss cutie pie, she thinks iam up to something...iam.. :smokin:
but it isn't the thought that counts?

anyways, i just want to say you made it fun to go back in time! it intersting
some of the similaries hitting home, like the alarm thingy..i think it's a comfort
issue having someone getting up..gettin things ready..then rollin out..that's
a sign of true caring< ..but my wifey poo didn't served us breakfast
in bed [poptarts]..i better point that out..

..the part i enjoyed the most, was the chef mickey story..& the autograph
book..."it's true-mothers think of everything!" where he credit for your
husband pick up on his wonderful wife?? that's one great memory to
treasure forever, :goodvibes

even with rain, its pretty cool , working all the happiness out a disney
vacation. ha! you mothers are not foolin anyone..taking your lil ones to
the bugs' show..so you can hold and cuddle your lil ones! next thing i
knew, my wife was comforting our daughter in the stores shopping!
however, for me, i think it neat watching all the comfort measures
going on..as long as got a hold of my por lil billfold..."tight".

thank you for sharing your family adventures...hey, by chance is your
yellow brick road..made out of twinkles? popcorn::
