My family(DW, DD10,DS7,DD2) and I will be headed to our favorite vacation spot, the Magic Kingdom, for spring break from April 11 to April 18. We always go and get the florida resident discounts and stay at one of the Disney Value resorts. When I called I was told that all the rooms with the value rate of $79/night were gone but they can offer me a moderate at $104/night, which is very good. Unfortunately the only thing available is CSR. We have stayed there before and did not like it because of the distances from building to building and how far the food court and pools are, but I put a courtesy hold on it so I could at least have a ressie to fall back on in case nothing at the values came open. I spoke to my wife when I got home and she told me to go ahead and book the value at the regular rate ($104/night) and be done with it. I called this morning first thing and was informed that all rooms at the values were booked and I was stuff with CSR or upgrade to AKL for $184/night. We have always wanted to stay at AKL, but this is out of our budget.

I have a dilemna and am seeking veteran Disney help. I do noty want to stay off site for $89/night and not have the convenience of bus transportation, free parking, package delivery, disney pools and all the other great things that go along with staying on-site. I also tried to get the Dolphin for $139/night with the nursing dicount but it is not available for thosedays because it is peak season. Please help and tell me what I should do.  :upsidedow :scratchin :crazy2: :worried:

My advice would be to keep the reservation at CSR so you have something booked. It may not be your first choice, but if you are unable to change dates and/or don't want to stay off site, then it's better than nothing.

Then I would keep callling to try to get what you do want, be it another mod. or a value. Cancellations do happen and you have a lot of time before you go for things to open up and discounts to appear. You might not be able to get all of your nights at a value or other mod., but maybe you can split your stay between CSR and a value or another mod.? I'd call back and ask the reservationist to really check your dates for openings. It might be that one date is hanging you up on getting the value or other mod., so see if you can split your stay. If that won't work, just keep calling and trying to get what you need. There are people on these boards who can give you the 800 numbers so your phone bills stay reasonable!!! (I just don't have them offhand).

Finally, if you're a member of AAA, call and ask about those disocunts. Not as steep as Fl. res., but still a discount. That's my advice. HTH.

No values whatsoever? Not even Pop Century?
If you didn't like Coronado Springs, can you try another moderate? Port Orleans seems to be a favorite of many on these boards.

Good luck! At least you'll be in Disney!!

If it were me I would take what I could get (and afford). I know its a little disappointing not to be able to stay where you wanted to but atleast you can get a decent rate at one of the resorts. POR. CSR and CBR are all big resorts and very spread out. Maybe you could request a room close to the Dig site or the main building. Meanwhile it doesnt hurt to keep checking at the resorts you want to see if there is an opening. Good Luck wherever you end up staying.

I was on the phone just yesterday trying to change my moderate to Pop Century from 15th out 19th Apr. No go. So had her check 16th out 19th. While she did, the 15th till 19th came available.

So keep on trying.

And whoever cancelled their res for 15th to 19th April yesterday.
THANK YOU:bounce:

I was in a similar situation..which I won't detail for the sake of time. But I'll tell you what I did to get what I wanted. Make the ressies for CSR...you can cancel up to 5 days out. See what is available for the resort you want...DAY by DAY. This is key, they will tell you it is not available even if only one day is missing. I was able to book 4 of the 7 nites at the location I wanted. I then called every evening and believe it or not within 2 weeks was able to get all 7 nites...adding nite by nite. I know it sounds tedious but it isn't. I just did it while giving DD a bath at nite and it only took about 5 mins. You'd be amazed how things open up! I then had my deposit from my 1st ressie applied to my second one. You can hold two ressies at one time with no questions asked. Good luck!

Thanks for your replies, I have been calling every day and sometimes even twice a day. I will keep my ressies for CSR even if I can not change. Any disney hotel is better than staying off-site.

Does anyone have the 800 number that someone says that Disney has for reservations so I do not have to pay so much for these phone calls

The 800 number was for the Disney Club which ended 12/31. I haven't tried it to see if it still works, but knowing Disney they probably stopped it at 12:01.

To your real problem, I would keep your ressie at CSR and keep trying. Are you locked in to those dates? I have found that sometimes changing by one day on either end can make a difference. Good luck!!

Not much new to add, just add to what others have said. I would keep trying. This has happened to us quite a few times and we just kept trying and trying and almost always got what we wanted. It's still over three months away. You can't believe how many people cancell, change, modify, etc. their reservations. There are soooo many rooms inside WDW that I am sure you will get something.

Good Luck!!

There is another toll free number outside of disney club. I have lost it. If the search is ever re established maybe you could find it there!

for what it's worth the disney Club # is...1-800-933-3975....I have not tried it since DC ended, so I don't know if is still aworking # ! Good luck getting your rooms!:sunny:

I just went on-line to WDW's website and was able to get availability at Pop Century, AS Movies, and AS Music. I didn't try sports. The rate was $109 per night for a standard room, for a total of $854.56 for the 7 nights. If you really want a value and you call again and they tell you there is no availability, book on-line, there is plenty of availability there. Also, if you go to the reservation page and page down and click on specials, then on the Spring Resort Savings, then on the LITTLE "book now" line, I can get availability at AS Music and AS Sports for $619.36, which is $79 per night. BOOK ON-LINE!!! There is availability there!!!!

Has it been long since you stayed at CSR? I would think your two older children would find the pool far superior to the value resorts. My kids thought the value resort pools were boring but liked CSR b/c of the slide and spa.

There are always rooms opening up at Disney resorts. A lot of the packages require just a small payment until 45 days out and, of course, room only rates can be cancelled up until 5 days. I never consider our reservations final until we're inside that 5-day window.

I wrote this down from another post about a month ago. It's not the Disney Club one, and I called both it and the regular 407 number and the recordings are the same. It should be okay to use, I think.

SO sorry-- I lost my connection in the middle of that other post, and when I dialed back up, I had already added this one.

I need coffee.

just wanted to say the same as many other posters: keep trying, things are always becoming available as many people have 2,3 or 4 ressies and cancel them all the time......hang in there, something will most likely come up....also, try online....

Also, if you do and up at CSR, try getting a room in the cabana's section...we were in Cabana's 8A and loved it! closest room in the entire resort to the main dig site! 20-30 second walk to parking lot and bus stops; right next to the laundry facilities and quiet pool and about 3-5 minutes stroll to El Centro...If you want to be closer to El Centro and still maintain some closeness to the main dig site pool, try Cabana's 9A or 9B...we really liked CSR, my dd12 is really wanting to go back there this year...best pool by far of any of the moderates..

I would try the Swan or Dolphin again, both the spg number, or calling the hotel directly. I've never heard of the discounts not being offered during "peak' seasons. For the last 2 years we have stayed there over NYE week with a teacher discount.

good luck!!

I have been calling first thing in the morning every day since the original reservation. I was able to get ASMu for the Florida Resident discount of $74/night for 6 nights from 4-11 to 4-17. I can breathe now and start planning all my dinner reservations and get ready to hit the phone in a couple of days to get PS for Cinderella' Castle breakfast. Let the planning begin and I will be watching the countdown clock every day.

This will be my first time going on Easter week in the many times I have gone. To those that have gone around this time, are the crouds as bad as Christmas week? or slower like Thanksgiving weekend? Thanks to all.:D :) ;) :p  :bounce: :Pinkbounc :earsgirl: :earsboy: :sunny:  :earseek: :teeth: :hyper: :wave2: ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

10 years ago the Easter crowds were pretty large. But that was before the days of FP. I remember a terrific Easter egg hunt at FW where Tigger even pushed my daughter's wheelchair around (broken leg).

With early ams and FP I'm sure you'll be ok.

Pixie dust!

we where there for easter week in 2003 and although the crowds were large; with EMH and fastpass, we found it to be quite manageable...
