No fair! Here you are sharing and now you hold back on how the rest of us can get the harpist. We are in the main dining room for our 30th anniv. in August and I would love to find out if she knows Color My World.

Thanks for another great thread!

There is always a harpist in the main restaurant.
:rolleyes1 Color My World ... 1976! :rolleyes1

If it's played at weddings or events ... they know the tune. :rolleyes1

If you are in the main dining room the thing to do would be to go up and ask them specifically during your meal. They welcome requests from the patrons. "Color My World" would probably be something they know regardless.

Just as a reminder, if you make a specific request to the Harpist during your meal, please remember that TIPPING is NOT a City in China :lmao: :lmao: and the Harpist should be rewarded for playing something specific for you.

We typically will tip $10 for one song or $20 for several (or more depending on how many glasses of Port Israel or Mark have served me! :drinking1 :drinking1 ).

Boy, this is one terrific thread.

Mr. Disney and Kevin, I must say that the love and devotion between you two is obvious in every post. I'm so pleased that you've chosen to share a part of your lives and trips with all of us and I'm totally humbled by the romance between you two.

I don't see an opportunity for dh and I to dine at the chef's table any time in the near future (having 8 and 4 yo boys makes "fine dining" a challenge) but hope that some time it will be possible. Since we own DVC, I'm pretty sure we can find an opportunity sometime in the next 48 years!

Thank you again for giving us a glimpse into your wonderful, romantic dinner. And since I was practically sick with envy over the dessert thread, I'm dying to see the desserts from this wonderful, gastronomic adventure.

:cheer2: :cheer2:

This would be a major incentive to utilize Disney's kids clubs! Of course then you would have to add at least another $100 to the tab for the night.

To our hosts. I have lurked through this thread and your all dessert extravagranza and I must say you are highly entertaining and kind and generous people. I was in WDW when you were there, too bad i didnt run into you somewhere you both seem like fun people. Though I too trave with munchkins so I think you may try and steer a wide berth from me.

As someone who spent almost 25 years working in the restaurant business, I can honestly tell you that many people, especially on days like this Sunday (Mother's Day) think tipping is due south of Beijing. :stir:

The amounts you recommended are very much what I would expect to give. I just wasn't sure if Chicago was in the harpist's repertoire. Do you know if there is a way to find out in advance - should I ask at AKL concierge?
If it's played at weddings or events ... they know the tune.
Color My World was our first dance at our wedding - I needed something slow and short :lmao: I'm not sure that it was used at many other weddings though.

This is a very good start ...

How would you like your coffee?

The only real coffee I have ever had on property is the coffee at Victoria & Alberts. Mister Disney tried everything under the sun to arrange for real coffee in our room. All the pixie dust in Neverland couldn't pull that off. pixiedust:

SO, as love you have it, he pulled his own pixie dust out and secretly packed individual packets of
chockfullonuts.jpg
:wizard: the Heavenly Coffee into our bags. Each morning, I awoke to a pot of specially brewed Chock Full O' Nuts coffee ... and Mister Disney! :cool1:
:hourglass

BUT WAIT ... this is LAST YEAR'S POT ... we're still waiting for the rest of dinner and DESSERT!

Where are the chocolate cigars and Diet Coke?
