Mistake if I don’t RD Animal Kingdom?

My kids really want to do the Bon Voyage breakfast... am I making a mistake doing this meal on the same day we have plans to go to Animal Kingdom? 😬 Our fp window hasn’t open, but I’m hoping to get fast passes for FoP, Everest and either Kali or Safari. I know it makes more sense to do on an Epcot day, but I can’t get the ADRs to work in my favor yet.

If you have a FP for FOP, EE, and either Kali or Safari, it’s hard for me to imagine a reason for you to skip something you really want to do in order to rope drop the park, unless you’re going like 4th of July or another bananas week. A huge portion of Animal Kingdom’s attractions don’t require waiting in a line.

I’d just try to be there as early as you can after enjoying breakfast.

I agree. AK is the only park I'd consider not rope dropping as I don't think it's nearly as much of a necessity.

If you want to do Navi River Journey that will probably have a long line later in the day so that's something to think about. We love rope dropping and we do it almost every day we go to a park. We had one day a few years ago that we moved some plans around and we ended up going to Chef Mickey's the morning of our AK day. Like you, we had fastpasses for everything we wanted (and this was before Pandora opened) so we figured we would be fine. We ended up really regretting it because it was a busier day and we ended up being so behind on our plans and just really struggled to get things done. So for us, we wouldn't do that again but YMMV.

It really all depends on if you get a FoP FP or not. If you do - the timing of the breakfast won't matter. But if you have to ride FoP and don't get a FP - that is going to effect your day.

I, too, normally try to plan fun breakfasts in front of my EPCOT day since we have the least need to get FP's or do rope drop at EPCOT.

Honestly...if FoP is really important to you and you can’t get a FP, it all depends on park hours. 8 AM regular opening or EMH is a substantially less stressful FoP rope drop experience than a 9 am opening.

These days I think I’m on the side of the folks who get in line a minute or two before closing.
