Can someone explain this ride to me. I've been to epcot 3 time & I'm always scared to do it. I'm not a fan of simulators though, is it a simulator?
In a way yes.
There are 4 people per vehicle. You will have a monitor before you and a joystick (does not do anything) and several buttons and switches to tinker with, again, do nothing other than light up or make a noise.
Orange uses the centrifuge. Green is the same ride without the centrifuge, achieving similar, less intense affects using traditional simulator technology.
I actually really like this ride!
I am a little nervous about taking my 7yr old daughter on it this September. She is a thrill junkie and cries when she isn't tall enough for bigger coasters, at age four her favorite ride at wdw was TOT (we rode five times in a row!)
This is just different. I am worried she will freak out at the sensation or try to hold her breath. I'm probably worried for no reason, just unsure how she will fare on this one!
On another note, I don't do the orange side anymore because- well it makes me turn "green"![]()
Meaning I feel very motion sick for a long time after riding. So now I do the green side & I am completely fine. I would suggest you do the mild side first if you' re worried & then if you feel the more intense side won't bother you go for it - it is cool if you can stomach it.
