i'm going for my first ride tomorrow and was wondering how long the ride is. i'm very nervous about this one but so excited!

Just back last Friday. Mission space was a first for me. It was not open earlier in the year when I went. Although I was very nervous, I think the ride lasted about 5-7 minutes from the time they close the capsule and you can see the bright blue sky until you land on Mars. As long as you keep your eyes directly on your screen and not look over at others in your capsule you will be fine. I wanted to see if I would be "woozy" and looked over at my mom. I did feel a little weird, but had I kept my head looking directly at the screen I would have been fine. If you can ride Mission Space, you can ride anything at Disney. My mom rode it for the first time too, and then she went on to brave Rock n' Roller coaster. Let me tell you, she IS NOT a coaster person at all. The ride is great!!!:)

the previous advice. I looked down at my "controls" once and instantly felt woozie. Looked back at the screen and was fine. I did feel a little light-headed afterwards but not sick. Very interesting and memorable ride. Unlike anything else.

Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!

I tried it, felt queasy right at the end, just a little. Glad i tried it but will not go on again. Ya gotta do it at least once.

I believe actual ride time is just over 4 minutes.

I looked straight ahead at the screen the whole time and really didn't feel much of anything. As we were going up into the air I could feel the pressure of going up but that is about it. I felt that it was very mild, kind of like body wars but not as jerky. If I didn't know, I would never know that we were spinning. Anyways, it was a great ride, I enjoyed it!

Well, I did everything they told me to - keep my head back, eyes open and focused on the screen at all times, but still felt sick. I honestly didn't budge so much as a muscle - didn't even push any buttons when it came time to "do my job" - I sat there perfectly comatose!! Actually, I felt "okay" until the landing at Mars. Then I began to sweat heavily and felt I was going to lose it. Thankfully it was over at that point. And I really believe that the cold air blowing on you saved me; if it weren't for that air, I probably would have felt the effects earlier in the ride and then that would have been disaster for me and the people riding with me!

I just got back a week ago and I loved this ride! I am not a roller coaster person really. I can ride smaller ones and can even handle the rockin roller coaster. I thought the pressure in this ride was intense but exhilerating at the same time! I rode it twice!! I loved it! I think it is a must do at least once, just to experience it. I did not feel the spinning at all! I knew it was happening, but did not feel it. They just spin you so fast it just feels like pressure. I was a little disappointed with the way it ended, I was hoping they would bring us back to earth but overall, it was awesome!

Ok, I know my 10 year old will ride this no matter what, but what about a 5 year old. Last year he went on the Star Wars ride (he was not yet 4). He was afraid at first, but then really enjoyed it. I know DH and I will ride. We can always do the swap, but little brother likes to do what big brother does if he can.

Thanks

I thought the take-off was the most intense part of the ride... I started to smile and I was wearing that same look for a while after the ride was done  I think that part lasted less than a minute.

You should be fine as long as you follow most of the instructions ... look straight ahead, don't close your eyes, keep your head back etc... My boyfriend said that he looked away for a second or two to look at the control and said he felt a little sick but as soon as he looked back at the screen he felt fine. After the ride, I felt a little disoriented but nothing really severe.

If you think you might get sick, you might want to do the ride on an empty stomach... Just in case ;)

I looked away a lot the second time I rode -- my niece was beside me (7 yo) and I wanted to see her reaction. Big grin on her face.

Maybe it's if you MOVE your head. Just moving my eyes didn't seem to make a difference.

At WDW now went during EMH Wednesday. On the down side of the flu or something like it. I followed the directions completely the 1st ride on MS. The 2nd 10 minutes later I played with all the other switches and stuff and still felt good. Third ride 10 minutes later was a mistake. Right at blast off I felt bad and this trip seamed a whole lot longer than the orher 2. Did not get physically sick but had to go back to the resort and lay down for an hour.
Funny thing when I got up I felt great no more flu symptons. Did 2 more times Thursday afternoon with no bad feelings. My only recomendations are if not feeling well you might not want to go on the mission.

I went twice last week. 35 year old mom of 4. I enjoyed it very much, even more the second time. I could definitely feel the spinning from the very beginning, but it was easy to control by looking at the screen. The simulated blast-off was very intense and scared the 7 year old girl in our capsule the second time. My 10 year old LOVED it (it is his absolute favorite ride) and did it about 5 times. My 8 and 7 year olds did it once, but opted not to do it again (one boy one girl)...and I think the enclosed space freaked out my second son. It does not last very long and it was fun to try once, but I love RnRC and ToT way more!
