Mission space: orange or green?

Mission Space orange is the only ride that has ever freaked me out. I thought I was going to pass out on that ride.

I would say that if you have a tendency to be claustrophobic, you would not like this ride.

We have FP+ for Mission Space in November. Any thoughts on Green or Orange for 8 & 9 year olds?:confused3

I get really bad motion sickness and I was really nervous going into the more intense side since they give you that disclaimer when you come in, I was surprised at how mild I found it. No big deal at all!! I was scared for nothing lol

I just made a FP+ for this ride on Saturday. You can make a fastpass for the ride, but you don't have to decide green or orange until you go to ride it. I am still not sure if I want to ride it at all, but there was not a ton to choose from for 2 days at Epcot.

It depends on your kids. If they like thrill rides and aren't bothered by the teacups or any traditional carnival spinning rides then they will probably be fine on the orange. My kids liked orange, but it made me & my DH feel nauseous. DH & I only ride green now, and the kids normally stick with us because they enjoy the green ride, too.

The rides are identical, except for the spinning on orange, which increases the feeling of acceleration ("g's"), and the feeling of nausea in people like me. The backstory (about being on the deep space mission) and the jobs for the individuals in each car are the same. Both green & orange have simulators that jerk you around and simulate take-off & landing, as well as a few moments of darkness ("deep sleep").

We are a couple of 53 and 47
We love all kind of rides
This ride was unreal
Only needed to ride it once ( orange)

I never never ridden green but I've been on orange plenty and last year their was 9-10 year old on the ride with us who lost his ****. I would highly suggest you let your kid try green first before riding orange. I've never heard a kid scream like that in my life.

As for the spinning you should theoretically not feel any that's why they say "head back, keep your eyes on the screen" it's trick on your vestibular and optic system. I've never felt the spinning as long as I've followed the guide. Love MS:Orange unfortunately only person who will ever go with me now is my brother who I barely see.

When we were there in September there were several times that the standby line for green was very short. If that is the case I recommend you ride green standby then you will still have your fast passes available to ride orange if you decide to.

I've been on both versions, and I do get motion sickness on some rides. The first time I rode orange and went with my brother. I reacted as I thought I might and felt a bit queasy during and after the ride. My brother usually has no issues with any ride and felt sick afterwards as well. The second time we had our dad with us and rode green. None of us were nauseous, and I have to say that while the orange side was definitely more intense, the green was not bad and I was pretty impressed. I thought it would be boring, but we all enjoyed it.

What about green for a 4 year old who likes roller coasters but can still be somewhat of a wimp?

At 4 and not ride averse, the excitement of piloting a spaceship but without the Gs is the way to go. Orange no way. Right or wrong I still don't let DS10 do orange.

I always ride all the roller coasters and rides: RnRC, ToT, EE, Space Mountain. We rode green first and it was really not bad at all. We decided to ride orange and never again. It felt like something was pushing on my chest and it was hard to breathe :scared1:. That was my last time on orange!

Yes, this!! I will admit they do a great job of warning people in the queue that if you're claustrophobic you may not want to ride, and when we saw the car I thought "oh I'll be fine".
That was before the door shut and the wall moved in! ;-)

I am not claustrophobic, have no issues on any other ride, but the orange ride I get nauseaous and have no desire to ride it again.

Finally sucked it up and did the Orange side in January. The older I get, the harder time I have with spinning. They tell you to look straight ahead if you start to feel sick. Also, don't close your eyes. It's a pretty neat ride, but I don't think I will do it again. But I'm glad I tried it. :) my husband refuses. He hates super small places. And it's for sure a little area. :)
