Mission Space. OK for kids?

My son is 7. I went on Mission Space back in 2009 but went on the "more intense" version and it wasn't really bad for me. But I've never been on the other version. I am thinking it might be too much for him but wanted to see what age your kid(s) have ridden it.

EDIT - To clarify I would not be considering the more intense ride for him.

Green Team side is very easy on guests.

The capsule only tilts slightly a few times in sync with the video.

DS was about half an inch shy at 5 of Mission Space I would have let him on the green side without much thought. DD rode both at 8 no issues. This year DS will be a few days shy of 7 he will def make the height requirement and if he wants to we will be letting him on the orange side.

If you kid is ok with dark enclosed spaces as soon as they are tall enough I wouldn't stop them from riding the green side. It's pretty tame except for the dark part which is over pretty quick. Usually by 6/7/8 most kids can handle that as long as they are prepared beforehand.

Green side should be fine for him, as long as he's not claustrophobic (it is cramped). The ride story isn't particularly scary, and the motion is less intense than Star Tours. I'd think orange side would also be fine if he's not prone to motion sickness.

My DD7 rode Green on Sunday for the first time and liked it fine. :thumbsup2

My 5 yr old who was just at the height limit in Sept. rode orange and loved it. I have a 10 year old who gets nervous to ride BTMR. Does that tell you anything?

During the more intense G and neg G portions of the ride, he was giggling but to my knowledge he stayed focused on the monitor as instructed.

THanks everyone. Hopefully in May I'll be able to get him to go on it.

My DD is 6 and LOVED the orange side after riding the green side twice. she won't go on the green side anymore.

Same here. For my son who was 6 last year, MS Orange was one of his top two or three rides in all of Disney World. His favorite was Rock n' Roller Coaster; just for persepective. Only you know your child well enough to make that judgement.

MY little daredevil was too scared to ride Haunted Mansion but rode the Tower of Terror. :confused3 Sometimes you never know until you try it....

My son will be almost 8 and I am not going to allow him to ride the more intense side. If he asks, I will allow the other side. I just am not personally comfortable with that many g's on my son. Granted he's a small 8 year old. Heck he might not even meet the height requirement. (I can't remember what it is right now.)

We just got back Monday and my DD5 loved it. She did it 3 times. She loved the level orange intense one also. My DSS11 loves it also but does not want to do orange again.
