Does anyone know if MS has a migraine warning-that people who get migraines shouldn't ride it? I thought I remembered hearing somewhere that it does, so I've never even considered riding it. Although I don't get migraines often, I've suffered with a migraine once in Epcot and once is enough (well, actually one time too often!)! Don't wanna chance that again.

I get migraines quite frequently (sometimes 3-4 a week.) I've been on Mission Space a ton of times and have never gotten a migrane because of it. I don't want to say you'll be fine (based on everything going on), but I don't forsee any problems.

I don't get motion sickness or anything like that, but when I come off, I do feel dizzy, and sometimes I'll get a little headache, which goes away a few minutes later. If you don't want to chance it, then don't ride it. Mission Space is a VERY intense ride that effects people differently. If you really want to ride it, bring a migrane medicine with you, like Excedrin, and take it if you get one after the ride.

I get nasty migraine - (3 prescrition medicines for it) - anyway Mission Space has not given me one yet...

I don't even get the slight headache that I did the first time...

I guess since I know what is happening I can relax and enjoy the ride...

but I think there is a warning?

remember to breathe deeply and relax....It is just a ride - it is not real.....

Hi all,
migraine sufferer here too, rode ms 3 seperate times on 3 seperate days and had no headaches after.while star tours will make me a little dizzy afterwards, after riding ms i had no problems at all.however my pops felt very sick to his stomache after his first time on ms,he did not puke but i think he came very close to it.

I have chronic migraines, including motion induced migraines (such as when my head gets jolted around like on a roller coaster). I've never gotten a migraine on M:S. Unless you look around or close your eyes you will not feel the spinning, but it will really feel like you are launching. It's not rough, but you do feel the G's. It's a hard feeling to describe, but I never felt like I would get a headache. I do take ginger capsules to make sure I don't feel sick. I would probably be ok without the ginger, but it's a good precaution for me (my DH does get sick with spinning and does fine as long as he takes ginger).

I believe there was a migrane warning on MS. The only reason I remember is because I suffer from migranes, but I chanced it and rode anyway. I hated the ride, didn't get what all the fuss was about and had no headache or motion sickness.

I like all the thrill rides but this ride was so horrible to me that I was sick for an hour after. It was short thank God but that's also a reason that its not worth the chance.

Exact same thing happened to me. I have never ridden it again and never will.

I get occasional migraines and I have ridden it more times than I can count.

I have really bad migraines too...but I would not ride MS...and I would not let DS who has a heart murmur ride it either. (only found out about the murmur this past summer-luckily in time not to let him ride)... :grouphug:

Another migraine sufferer who has ridden this ride more times than I can count and have never had one triggered by it.
When you say you heard they had a migraine warning, do you mean just casually or actually a posted warning? Because I've never seen this as a posted warning on any ride.

The way I heard it it was a posted warning that migraine sufferers should avoid the ride along with the usual back problems, pregnant, heart problems, etc.

I take 3 Migraine med every night and I have road MS numerous times and never a headache. I don't recall ever seeing a warning. But if you feel it might make you sick then by all means don't ride it. A 49 year old woman from europe died this week on it. They shut it down for a day but it is open now.

I don't get migraines too bad anymore, but I got them regularly and often the last time I rode Mission Space. I am also quite prone to motion sickness. But, I like Space, so I rode anyways.

I did not get a migraine, I did not get sick, nothing happened. I quite like the ride.

Now, I won't ride anymore, but that is because I've heard several times that people inside a capsule have gotten physically sick DURING the ride, and did not use the barf bags. Now, think about what happens to liquid when you are in a centrifuge-- THAT is why I won't ride :-)

My DH suffers from chronic cluster migranes and also takes a number of medications. He has never gotten a migrane after MS.

I don't think there was ever an official warning about riding if you had a history of migranes, but I do recall several people posting soon after it opened that they rode it and got a migrane after.

:crazy2:

Dumb question here...I get migraines, I have high blood pressure (on the low end and no meds to take) and I have a heart murmur (MVP) otherwise I'm healthy and in fairly good shape for 40+--my question is, am I being foolish by riding the "warning rides" anyway? I've never really thought of myself as a health risk. Are the warnings bascially for 'real' health problems or are they for even minor ones (like mine). Maybe I'm just in denial b/c I want to do ALL of WDW (except MS--can't do it again :crazy2: , although I thought it was fun :thumbsup2 )

The lawyers would tell you they are even for minor ones :-)

But I probably wouldn't stay off all of the rides if I was in your situation. Given the number of people that have heart murmers and high blood pressure, do you really think they all stay away from amusement park rides?? Doubtful, yet there are very few accidents given the number of riders.
