MISSION:Implausible

:happytv: Now Hiring: WDW Advanced Dining Reservation Specialist. :lmao: :rotfl2:
What a great job description, sad thing is, it's pretty accurate!
At first I worried you were park hopping all over, but then I read that you realized this too. My DH also hates fish...chicken, pork...anything but hamburgers and hot dogs :headache: while I eat almost anything. You should be able to find something to eat even at a seafood place.

Ok, as of right now I have reservations for every day we are there. I tried to find a nice balance of themed fun for the kids and decent food for us. We are not picky eaters, and are fairly adventurous when it comes to food. The main problem is that I HATE fish. Really. I HATE it.

I have tried repeatedly in my 31 years to find a fish I could call my friend (if friends were something you eat, that is). I just don't like it. Dh loves seafood, so there some (hopefully) good (nasty) seafood in there for him (ugh). It actually took me about 2 months to really get a list I was happy with, but I am now thinking of switching around some touring days, so I may have to rearrange. I also am considering switching out Biergarten for the San Angel Inn. I can't decide!

Sat: Dinner: Liberty Tree Tavern
Sun: Break: Crystal Palace Dinner:Flying Fish
Mon: Lunch: 50s Prime Time Dinner: Sci-Fi
Tues: Lunch: Garden Grill Dinner: Coral Reef
Wed: Break: Rainforest Cafe (not on DDP) Dinner: Yachtsman Steakhouse
Thurs: Break: Chef Mickey's Lunch: Whispering Canyon Dinner: 'Ohana
Fri: Lunch: Biergarten Dinner: Boma
Sat: Break: 'Ohana

I imagine we will eat breakfast at Boma on some days, since we are staying at AKL. This is pretty much where we will be stuffing our faces for the trip!!

We've been to most of these restaurants, so I'll give you my input, in case you want it. Also, I would suggest staying away from San Angel Inn. We haven't had good experiences with them, and neither have a lot of people. If you want typcial Tex-Mex type of food, do the counter right across from the San Angel Inn. However, the ride inside the restaurant is a must do!!!

We have done dinners at LTT and absolutely love them! :woohoo: Total comfort food and the decor is so cool. I also love the historically themed costumes on the characters.

We also start our trips with breakfast at CP, which should say something. Very decent choice of foods, the atmosphere is beautiful and I just love the Pooh characters, especially Eeyore!

We've never been to the FF, but have wanted to try it a number of times. It's supposed to have amazing food, and even if you don't want to try seafood, just know that all seafood places have non-seafood entree choices, too.

50's Primetime is always fun. The food is decent, not over the top good, but they truly treat you like you a family member there and getting to watch old black and white shows while you eat is fun. It's true, too, about making sure you keep the elbows off the table and eat those vegetables! The last time we were at Sci-Fi was 2002, but the theme is neat. You get to sit in large convertibles (simulated convertibles really) and watch the cheesiest movies, that you just have to laugh at. The wait staff also serves food to you on roller skates! Too cool. The lighting isn't all that great, since you're supposed to be at a drive-in, so just order foods like burgers. Can't go wrong with that.

We LOVE the Garden Grill! :cool1: :thumbsup2 :cool1: The food is amazing and they'll give you more food, as often as you want it. The restaurant revolves slowly, so you get a full revolution by the time you're done. As the place, revolves, you see a variety of scenes that I still get out of my seat to view more closely. The characters are dressed as farming people and spend a lot of time visiting. It's also a treat eating food that you know was made right there, and you can learn all about on the ride, The Land.

Coral Reef is great. :goodvibes The sea life is beautiful. Imagine eating your meal and seeing the largest turtle you've ever seen swimming right by you. Even if you don't get a table directly in front of the glass, every seat is a good one.

We have never had lunch at the RC, but have eaten lunches and dinners. In fact, we discovered after our first trip, that we have a RC 20 minutes away from our home! The theming is fantastic! I also really love the food. Be prepared for thunderstorms, animated animals that move quite realistically and a star-filled sky. Very cool.

We've never gone to YS for a meal, but would love to. The food is supposed to be really, really good.

We love CM for breakfast. You get to pose for a picture when you first arrive, that you can purchase before you leave. The food is good and the atmosphere fun. I especially like Goofy, at this restaurant, even though it is technically Mickey's restaurant!

We have heard so many great things about WC. Just don't ask for ketchup, whatever you do!

Dinner at Ohana is sooooooooooooo good! :cloud9: The food is delicious!!! Kids get pulled into some fun events during the meal to entertain everyone. A guy plays some Hawaiian songs. It's really wonderful, and we love giving ourselves time to explore the resort.

We've never been to the Biergarten restaurant, so I have no input, here.

Dinner at Boma is a must if you are staying at the AKL. The reviews are always really good and I love the pics of the restaurant and the food.

Breakfast at Ohana is always good. We haven't gone since they changed the characters to Lilo and Stitch, but it's always been a great time.

BTW, I absolutely love the way you write your posts! They always have me :rotfl2: cracking up!!! You not only create amazing cakes, but entertaining reading. Keep them coming! :goodvibes

:confused3 Have you made your ADRs for these yet? :confused3

At WCC, DO ASK FOR KETCHUP....They have the best ketchup there;)

Oh, and make sure you finish your drink super fast, like under 5 mins and ask for another one...;)

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I am with ya on fish...YUCK:eek:

I have never done Ohanas for dinner, but breakfast is great.!!! What time is your ressies?

You have done a great job:goodvibes

Ugh.. fish.. . The funny thing is, I WANT to like fish (and mushrooms, too!). I have tried and tried to eat fish, I just gag everytime I taste it. :sad2: Our ressies are pretty early, I may have to reschedule for Wishes!!

Thank You!!

Yuh, the thing is, that the first ADR plan I made was actually like that! Hopping all over the place :scared: . Once I realized it, I started cramming info into my head until I could keep all the rest. and their locations straight!!

The seafood places all have steak, so I'll be fine & dandy with some Moo-meat!

Thanks for your input on the San Angel Inn! I LOVE mexican food, but if it is no bueno it's a no go!!

Thank you for the compliments.. :cutie: I am having fun with the pre-trippie!

Yup, all of those places I have already made my ADRs (at least twice):lmao:

ok.. what's gonna happen when I ask for ketchup at WCC???

Thanks for your compliments and dining reviews!! It is sooo helpful!

mickiecake, you're just going to have to ask for the ketchup. If we told you, that would ruin the occasion, you just have to be surprised! :lmao:

I love that in many ways, all of this is so new to you, because it makes the planning that much more fun. Also, I can't wait to hear about how your trip went when you get back!!! You're going to have a great time. Definitely follow everyone's advice at WC. The experience you'll get will be priceless!

I agree with NJfreak......

I love reading of a newbies experiece with the planning and then hearing about it when you back, is going to be great.

make it more magical for us non newbies:thumbsup2

I debated even putting this in my report, because I don't want to read it years from now and get sad. BUT I figured it was part of the story, so I needed to include it.

On October 18th, my grandfather, bedridden for 4 1/2 years, passed away.

I owe it to my grandmother to acknowledge what she did for him. She took care of him for more than 50 years of marriage, the last 4 at great personal and physical cost to herself.

He would have never wanted to live his life the way he did after his stroke. I guess I've always kind of felt like the big, loud, boisterous man that raised me really died 4 years ago. When it came, it was no shock, and we all let him go peacefully, like he deserved. I love you, Daddy Red, and I'll miss you forever.

My gmother is already moving on with her life. Yes, she misses him very much, but she is also relieved for herself, and for him, too. She will be able to live for herself for the first time in her life, and I am happy for her.

Ok.. that's enough sad stuff. I just felt I owed it to her (and to him) to include that in this report.

I am so sorry for your loss. You know you did your best to make those last years as easy as you could, for both your grandmother and grandfather. :flower3:

I am sorry for your loss. I lost my gfather in August and it's still hard to deal with. Thank you for sharing with us. It's clear he was an amazing man!

I LOVE your sense of humour and your report- I too am a newbie planning our first trip- I can feel your excitement- :woohoo: -- WDW- here we come! Jen

Thank you , everyone for your replies. I haven't posted in a few days b/c I've been kinda sick  . Still not 100%, but at least I can sit at the computer now!! :)

Dear Diary,
My Mom has gone crazy!!:scared: She said we're going to Disney, which is cool & all, but it's like, all she TALKS ABOUT!! There are books and papers all over the house, and when I am trying to do my homework she keeps shoving that stupid Kids' Guide in my face. Jeez! And she calls me a spaz...

Ok, I have my reservations. I have my ADRs. I have read both the Unofficial Guide and the Passporter twice. Okay, and the Birnbaum's Guide for Kids, too.:bitelip:. Twice. Dang DBOD.

I thought I had a good plan for touring... I decided to go where they are having the EMH. Not too many early mornings, tho, it IS vacation.:coffee: But now with all of the important stuff done, I have too much time on my hands, and keep second guessing my choices. I plan to go to AK on the day they have evening EMH. Should I switch that to morning? We're going to the MK first... should I save it for last instead like the Guides say? Will the boys really be disappointed in the rest of the parks if they see MK first?? And all of my flippin' highlighters ran out of juice!:furious:

So much for my triple-color-coded system!! So what now? Should I just chill out and go with the flow, or should I rethink my touring plan (and thus my ADRs, as well) one last time?? :scared1: Or should I just go buy more highlighters for the, ahem, super secret ninja plan portion of the trip that the boys (and you, dear reader) know nothing about?? oooh.... a mystery..:scratchin

if this is your first trip Walt disney World, then I think Magic Kingdom should definitley be your first park!!!!

There is nothing like it....:goodvibes
