Missing my old life, time to make a new one I guess

Like I am, they have their moments. All 3 of them were adults & already into their own lives more or less when Bob passed. they are doing well. I think Brian has the toughest time as he was here in Orlando at the time. He & Bob, as in most father/son relationships, had their moments of conflict. Fortunately, they had managed to put alot of it behind them in the months prior & for that I'm very happy. The Fri after, the 4 of us plus Bob's best friend from MA ast down & had a celebrate Bob/Dad fest. It was truely a healing process for us. We all shared memories of Bob. Mike, his friend, knew him before I did & shared alot his memories. The kids remembered things I had forgotten. It was a great moment for us.
We all get sad around the 20th of April. Also, I know Brian had a tough time with Father's Day. His friends gather around him for that.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Bob but feel such a connection to where you are.

Last November, my marriage of 26 years ended. The last 6 plus months have certainly been a transition in my life. It has certainly been a period of ups and downs. First time I have ever been the sole decision maker for anything as I married right after college. Without my DIS friends here I don't know what I would have done. I can relate to needing to build a new life, not forgeting the old but needing to find your own happiness.

My girls and I will be in Disney this month and I would love to meet up with you.

Dian-er - I feel like I know both you and Bawb thanks to the podcast archives. I can't imagine what you are going through, but there are so many shoulders to lean on in this vast community. So many have suffered a loss and then thrived during the healing process. Best of luck finding those new adventures to help you continue to heal.

I know you don't know me, but I've been listening to the podcast for a few years and I feel like I knew Bob personally. His death really hit me, and I can only imagine how it affected you. But I'm very glad to hear that you are doing well and are getting by without too much difficulty. I wish you the best of luck on all of your new adventures, and I hope that wherever these new travels lead you that you will drop in to visit your DIS family from time to time.

I wanted you to know that my 2DS loved Bob and still talk about him. He really touched their lives and they have not forgotten him. We have a Dole Whips for Bob every time we are in Disney.

Dian-er, as you can see, there are literally hundreds of us - if not more - who think of you. We may never have met either Bawb or yourself, but we feel lucky enough to have still known you and Bawb. Good luck with everything and please keep in touch with the DIS. We all care about you and your family so much.

I'm so glad to see you posting. Even though I never met Bob, I grieved when I heard of his passing.... When I was in WDW last month, I had a Dole Whip in honor of Bob, and had my DBF take a picture of me with it in front of Aloha Isle. I will do the same on each and every trip I take to the world from now on. He made his mark on all of us. Life goes on, and so will you. We are here for you anytime.

I never met Bob, but like everyone else, felt like I knew him. As much as I love the podcast team, I miss him every time I listen now. There's always something missing. I met your son Brian at DAP and he was just the nicest guy. I'm glad that you are still lurking!

Hi Dian-er Thanks for being so honest about your feelings and sharing them with us. I know we can not understand your loss, but being happily married for a long time myself I understand how wrapped up in one another's lives and interests you become (hence my screen name "timandlesley", we even share that : ) I can't imagine the pain of loosing that person suddenly and then loosing everything that you shared together as well. You are bound to have those "down moments" and are surely entitled to them, but I am glad to hear you are developing a plan, starting to post more here to get some support,and hopefully you can get involved in some Dis events so people can physically surround you with love and support as well. Take care of yourself!
