I keep this pair of earings in their orginal box, with the earings hooked to the little hooks. Unless they are on my ears, they are here. The box is in the bottom drawer of my dresser in my bedroom.
I think dh's 4yo nephew went into the drawer to "play". Last Fri, I had to work. Dh was home with our dd. His parents brought her 9 & 4 yo cousins over to play. They were all over, making huge messes. The 9 yo is pretty good. But the 4yo hasn't yet learned how to keep pieces together, etc. (We're still putting together games, etc which were strewn all over.) Messes I can take.
Watching these boys is a lot on my MIL. (Their parents were away for a few days.) I think she might have been with the older 2 when the little one got into my drawer.
I'm really upset. This earing is very expensive and one of my fav's. I asked my dd and she doesn't know anything. She would tell me if she did. She has never gone into that drawer, even when she was a toddler, so I know she didn't loose it.
Do I ask MIL if she saw anything? Can I ask SIL to check the kids pockets? I won't mention that it is an expensive earing. I'm really afraid they will get upset or think I'm "accusing", which I am not. I just want to find out the truth.
