Leaving MCO in torrential rain on the 528 two weeks ago, I approached the second lot of toll booth's, and they had changed since the last time I went through it. Now, the change/receipts booths are divereted to the right, and the SunPass lanes just carry straight on. The two areas are now completely seperate.
I initially mistook the right hand lanes for an exit (which I didnt want to take), and carried straight on....I immediately realised what I had done, but there was no "idiot" lane afterwards to get me in there, and I was forced to drive through the Sunpass lanes.

Obviously their camera's will have gotten me.

Alamo didnt say anything yesterday when I returned the car.

Anyone had the misfortune of driving through the sunpass lane by mistake, what happens ?

It depends how many times that particular car has missed tolls before. If you are lucky you won't hear any more about it. At worst Alamo will deduct the fine plus an admin fee from the credit card that you used when you picked the car up.

we came back yesterday, and our car had a sticker saying it was registered with both EZPass and Sunpass, so to go through those lanes, and it would be charged to our credit card (it did cost $2.50 day to use) so maybe yours had this too

I was a bit alarmed by the $100 fine signs that are up there...could do without that at the moment.

I didnt see any Pass stickers on the car, but maybe its common with all Alamo vehicles. There is nothing on, or pending on my credit card yet from them.

The vehicle I got this year (7 seater minivan) wasnt as good as Ive had previously, quite high mileage, 27k, and a couple of niggling faults I only found out about once I had left the depot, such as the rear aircon not working, and a noisy wheel bearing. Also, it only had a key, not a remote fob, which, according to the manual, it should have had, which made things tricky to find it in busy car parks.

The EXACT same thing happened to me. We rented with Alamo too, nothing was said to us and I have heard nothing since. It is really confusing with all the roadworks on the 528. I know when I go back in September that I will take the 417 until it has all finished!

I will let you know if I hear anything.

This happened to me a few years ago and i did not pay the toll. We heard nothing. We just got back last week and our Alamo car had the pass sticker on.

Hopefully you will be OK, Dollar are the ones that send out the fines, not heard of any sent out from Alamo yet.

i was worried to in 2003 when i went over with my parents,
my Dad was driving and we went through a toll not realising you had to pay and all of the alarms went off :scared1: ....i spent the rest of the holiday wondering if we would get a heafty bill ...but when we dropped the car i think to Dollar ..they never mentioned anything to my parents and they have never recieved a bill either...
