Missed our chance to ride Frozen

Understood. But if the ride had been shut down from 3:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. as others have reported, then you would not have been able to use your FP. At which point you would have been offered an opportunity to get a FP for "any other attraction", which actually translates to "any other attraction with availability." At which point you would have been shut out of Soarin' and Test Track and would have gotten an unnecessary FP for Nemo or Figment, at which point you would have come here and barked. You got lucky that you were able to secure a Tier 1 FP and actually use it. Others are finding out that their Tier 1 FP is unusable, and they cannot swap it out for another one. That is a pretty rough thing to have happen.

I would have walked over to guest services and gotten one for Soarin' or Test Track, regardless of availability. I have a very persuasive wife :)

It's actually not subject to availability. You just march over to whatever replacement ride you've selected, touch the FP tapstile, and walk into line. I would 100% recommend getting FEA as your FP if you want to ride it. Best case is the ride is up and you get to ride. Worst case is you can go to Soarin' or TT (or anything else you'd like) at whatever time you choose. You don't have to worry about conflicts with ADRs or being in another line during your time, etc. We used ours for TT and had no issues redeeming it exactly when we wanted.

Here's the email we received to notify us FEA was down:

We had a FP for it on 6-25. Got on and got to the first section and the ride broke down. After several attempts to restart, they walked everyone off of it and we were given paper fastpasses to use on another ride or to come back. We went back on the 27th because we saw it was up and running--stopped at Norway for lunch and about three minutes after sitting down, the FEA closed again. We ate, hung around World Showcase and kept watching the app to see if it was going to open again--it did! Success! We actually got to ride it! Although they're still trying to find our picture from that time...........

My husband and I had a fast pass for 6-25 as well. It was for right around lunchtime, now I feel lucky that we were able to ride and didn't have to stalk it all day.

I've experienced the alternate FP when a ride is down option at MK on a previous trip - worked great, but...
Has anyone been able to get a replacement FP for FEA that's good for another day of their trip? I'd be OK if I knew that I could use a FP on another day during our trip when its actually running, but today or never is not as flexible as I think it should be when it's down this often...

We had a FP for 11:15am on 7/4 as well. We decided to forego it as it was our check out day and we had already seen it down most of the holiday weekend. DIdn't want to walk over just for that and it be down. Well lo and behold, as I was filling the gas tank while leaving the Boardwalk to drive home, I received an email at 10:57am saying that it was down and offering a replacement FastPass. On 7/1 we were able to ride Soarin from standby in less than the 40 minute posted wait time. Then went over to DHS for our FP for Toy Story and *surprise* it had been down earlier and they were only allowing fast pass holders in the standby line. 35 minutes later we were still standing in that line and were about to forfeit our dining reservation. As we walked out we explained and they gave us two anytime return fast passes good for the entire month of July. Guess they'e not doing that for FEE.

Had a FP for 6:07 on July 4th. Ride was broken down when we returned and it never re-opened the rest of the night. Very disappointed. It was broken down a couple times earlier in the day as well.

Ride was down for us on the 30th. Don't know if it ever opened back up. Pretty sad for a new ride.

Sorry to hear that. I have checked the wait time for FEA on my lines app around 10 times or so since the ride opened (just to see what the wait times were). Every singe time I have checked it it is listed as "reported closed"/offline. What a mess!

Come on, with the millions of dollars Disney makes every year, they cant get the most popular ride to work? Sorry, it's not acceptable.

I think Disney is reporting the ride down more than it actually is, probably to control/deter the crowds. We had a FP and went anyway just in case even though through the wait times it looked down, but it was up and we rode it yesterday. Although earlier that morning we tried to ride standby and it was actually down.

I wanted to encourage people to actually go to the ride and check it. When we were there last week MDX said the ride was down but the ride was actually up for FP+.
