for our upcoming "mommy & me" cruise. Her last one was 4 x 6 chipboard binder, which was great for autographs, but a little small for photos.

What's your favorite size for Autograph books?

Do you think landscape or portrait works better?

Can you suggest ideas for making it unique?

Thanks:flower3:

I haven't done autograph books - start them once then decided that I didn't want to carry them

will you have stroller that has a basket or will it have to go into a backpack??
will you include pics after you get back?? if yes then which way do you crop the pics?

no ideas on unique

The kids did 4" tags cut out on the cricut one year.. they got the autographs and then I could add them to the pages when I got home..

I saw a few when I was out in June at the parks where the kids were carrying 8x8 spiral bound books... the one mom I saw had decked out each page for a character.. left a 4x6 space to place a photo and a 2x6 space underneath the photo or above to have signature.. what she noticed was that the characters were signing in the bigger space not the autograph space... So, she was going to redo the book when she got home...

I cut the 4" tags on the cricut w/ the george cart, zooballoo cart.. It was easier to carry around.. I cut numerous colors so the kids could decide on a color while we were in line..
I put the signed cards in a separate baggie so we wouldn't accidently sign the tag twice...
Each kid had a clipboard I decorated for the characters to have a hard surface to sign on.. after a while we went to 1 clipboard for the 3 kids and PJ would help the boys switch out tags so there was only one clipboard being toted around...

When at WDW, I use an ecv and both Dimples and book go in the basket, but this will be a cruise, so I'll probably hand the book in to the front desk for Autographs and just get pictures at the meet and greets so we won't hold up the line.

Tags sound like a good idea. We might try that.

Here are some pages from her last one.

The pictures went in afterwards.

We've done all sizes, 4x6 we took the cards out and scrapped them. 7x7 cm book. Just scrapped right in it.
5x8 printed from disigners. Haven't decided if I want to add pics to it.

I have yet to find one I love. Not sure what I am doing for this trip.

Simple Stories has this new binder out that is awesome. It is 6 x 8, and they have page protectors in every configuration. It's a kraft binder, so it can be decorated, and then the autograph cards can be decorated and slipped in and out.

Another thing that I've seen is putting a bunch of index cards on a ring, all decorated up (with ribbons on the ring part) and then using those as autograph cards. When you get home, then take the little booklet apart and put the autographed cards in a divided page protector along with a picture. Looks really cute when done (wish I could give you a link, but probably saw it in the 2Ps gallery).

Sam wanted the "official" autograph book just like the other kids, but chances are Dimples won't be so opinionated :)

I have a Disney Autograph/Memory book that I'm working on now. I would post a photo of one of the pages but PhotoBucket isn't cooperating. I bought one of the cloth 8 x 8 inch scrapbooks at JoAnn's. I have an 8 x 8 solid sheet of cardstock as my background page, a 3 x 8 strip of patterned paper down one side of the page and a character cutout (from my Cricut) on the other side of the page. I have a 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 piece of white cardstock on the page to get autographs. I figure when we get back if I want to add photos I can do that on a facing page. Also figure if I don't get a characters autograph I can use the white card to write down trip memories.
Now all I need is a trip! :sad2:

You all have some GREAT ideas - I Knew this was the place to come for help :)

Fortunately, the characters available for autographs are pretty limited - the FAB 5, chip & Dale, and the Princesses. Maybe or maybe not Lilo and stitch - they might have been only on the Hawaii. Jack Sparrow.

I 'm drawn to the 'simple scrapbooks' idea, but I also like the tags idea. Grumpymom, is that a binder with page protectors? Or a chipboard album with the papers glued right on?

Dimples doesn't care so much about the autographs - she mostly likes the hugs she gets, and the princesses making a fuss over her.

It's a binder with the page protectors. The book has a window in the cover that I'm going to put a cutout of Mickey in. I also want to put a cover page in the front of the book. It's a bit bulky but my middle son travels in a wheelchair stroller so I plan on carrying it in a drawstring bag and hooking it on the handles of his chair.

There are a couple of the pages I've done. For those that I don't have Cricut cuts for I'll have to figure something else out.

Here is the tag "book I made and a few pages with the tags on them :)

Caroline--my gypsy lost all its files, let me measure the book and see if I can tell you what size to make.

so you just carry the tags around at the park then add them to the pages when you get home??
hmmm I could keep the tags in a ziplock bag(the way the boys love Splash Mt & Kali they need to be waterproof) - that could work

Cheryl, I love your tag book. Are these just standard size tags?

Your tag book is adorable. I love the tags on your pages as well.

Thanks ladies :goodvibes

Reddy I carried the tag book in a quart size zip lock bag with a sharpie in the bag too. Kept my tags nice and neat and I could always find the pen ;) Best and easiest autograph book I've ever carried at the parks :thumbsup2

Caroline the tags are from the "Plantin Schoolbook" cart; cut at 5 inches. But I'm sure any tag you like would work. I was trying to make sure the tags were large enough for "gloved" hands.

If you want a different autograph idea I've used a blank 9 inch Vinylmation figure on 2 different trips to get autographs.

Thanks Cheryl - one of my favorite carts. Definitely will make one for our trip next yr, for my granddaughter.

I Love BOTH of those - and I really love paper piecing the characters - (except the princesses hands and faces)

Lucky lucky you with a real live little girl to play with::yes:: Although mine never says "are we there yet?"
