Mishaps & Magical Moments...Day 7 Added!

Loving your TR!!!!

Owen is look so big!

:woohoo:Can't believe Myles rode Space! Emma isn't ready for that yet.

How cool that you got to do the fireworks cruise!!!! Love the view from your new room just sorry all you had to go through to get it.

We had dinner on Emma's birthday at CG and saw Wishes from up there. I have to admit I had tears in my eyes that night and I'm not a cryer.;)

Hey Nickie,

Missed you started your TR--we were OOT but now we are back and I am catching up on DIS. Looking forward to reading along...

cute photo of your DH and the boys at the Hilton! Love the photos from Chef Mickey's!!

the Wishes cruise--what a magical moment :wizard:

(LOVE the thumbsup ratings!!)

We are hoping to get empty Main Street pictures on my DD's birthday since we are planning a BBB appointment before the park opens. :goodvibes:

I am glad you got a great room the second go around--too bad it was right off but great views nonetheless!!

Remi!! Did the Myles and Owen get a kick out of him?

Yuck--a tornado warning!! I sure hope the weather gets better for you!!

Wave--first I have heard much about it. The food looks yummy!! I sure do enjoy food porn!! :rotfl:

Happy birthday Myles!! I hope he and the rest of the family had a great celebration!!

I am glad you were able to enjoy your day at DHS despite the rain!! Sci Fi diner--glad you liked it. Hollywood Play and Dine was on our list but it did not make what I think is going to be our final list (never say never). Maybe our next trip ;)

Wonderful! update Nicki...
sounds like an awesome day even with the rain! I love the picture of Owen and Russell. and of course the empty park shot!! you need a frame just for those...

Next time you do Playhouse Disney it is better to sit in the middle to the back...you can see better that is one of the only places I would say that... Ashton and I sat in the middle to the left side and he was able to see everything! (standing up of course).

Hi Connie! Thanks for the heads up on Playhouse Disney!

Wow! A near perfect Disney day!!! :yay: Man, you guys get up early! ;)

We have never eaten at Hollywood & Vine, we might have to have bfast there! Looks like fun!! I'm happy you had a great experience at Sci-Fi! We like eating there too! The atmosphere is so fun and the milkshakes, yummy!!

Mmmmmmm! We LOVE California Grill! We've always had a window seat, but have never watched Wishes from there. Maybe next time we'll have to eat during Wishes. Oh, the filet! My mouth is watering thinking about it!

We do get up early. Although on this trip I think we were in bed by 10:00 almost every night! I like when the parks close early in the winter and Wishes is at 8 instead of 9:00!

Oh I would really try to get in there during Wishes!! It was really so cool. You can bring your drinks out to the balcony- and Wayne and I had some wine, watched wishes and it was really very romantic (even with two kids hanging onto us!!)

Sounds like a great day! And you're making me hungry! We ate at both Sci Fi and CG on our Sept. trip and both were yummy. We'd heard to stick to burgers and shakes at Sci Fi and they didn't disappoint. Best chocolate shake ever! CA Grill was our favorite meal...I had the same meal you had! Sorry about all the rain, but sounds like you managed to work around it pretty well. Looking forward to more!

I actually like the filet better at the wave but I did think it was still very good. If I hadnt eaten at the Wave then I think Cali would have been my favorite meal and to see Wishes from there put it right there at the top with the Wave but I did prefer the food and the slower pace from the Wave!!

Oh, and I forgot to say, adorable pictures with Dug! :goodvibes

Oh thanks!! I knew you would like those!! :goodvibes

What a great day! The boys look like they had a blast...rain or shine!

And that flatbread at CG...it looks fabulous! We have an ADR for our next trip, so I'm definitely starting with that! What kind was that?

Thanks!! It was so good! It was the cheese one ?? I forget the exact name but there was only two!

Oh my, Owen looks like a mini Myles. He has grown so much since May. Congrats on being the first family to be at DHS. We ate at Sci Fi too this trip and loved it. You guys were getting so much done and what low wait times.:thumbsup2 I'm sorry to hear the weather wasn't so magical. Oops, about the stroller. At least now you'll remember next time.
Dinner looks delicious. The kids' dessert is so cute. I really want to try Cali grill at around Wishes one day. Sounds like such a magical end to a magical day.

Cali grill was great- thankfully we were on the dining plan! It is very pricey. I think our meal would have been around $300! That is why I love the deluxe dining- I know you pay ahead but it feels like an all inclusive while on vacation- you dont even blink at a $300.00 bill!

I love the pic with Doug! Too cute!!! And we LOVE Sci-Fi! I think it's such a cool atmosphere and the burgers are good. I have actually had a steak there and it was good. What a magical day. And little Owen singing Wishes... man, I would have cried too!!!!

Thanks!! Yes it was a Magical Day for sure!! It is funny, 3 trips ago I said DHS was my least favorite park, but now I really love it!

Great update! Very cute pics. Glad you had a fun DHS day!!

Thanks Mary!! Getting so close for you!!!

Hi Bernadette!!! Owen is getting so big- I am really looking forward to him on our nect trip because he will be three and HOPEFULLY potty trained!!!! How special for Emma that just the two of you had her bday dinner at Cali grill and for wishes! I really liked it there!! I know- I cant believe Myles rode Space. I dont know if he will do it again...oh wait I just asked him and he said, "NO!" He is really good at trying things but if he doesnt like them then he will not try it again... ever :rotfl2:

Hey Welcome back!!! I would try to get to Play n Dine next trip!! Remy was very cute. We saw him in May too and the boys thought he was so cool. He squeaks when he talks. Yes- such a pain with the room issues... the Poly was so beautiful but because of that and having to deal and fight for a room that wasnt blowing hot air, I do not think we will ever stay there again. I am almost glad though- because at that price tag if we had fallen in love with the Poly it would make future trips much more expensive for us!!!!

:laughing:Emma rode EE at 5 and hasn't been back on since. She LOVES BTMRR but wasn't up for EE again. Maybe next year. She likes the Yeti so I think there is a good chance.

That day of the no show blizard we lost our electricity 3 times quickly and it fried my desktop Mac. I don't think the surge protector could recover quickly enough. I brought it to my office and they are still trying to see if they can retrieve my hard drive. I bought a new iMac yesterday-the old one was about 4 years so the new one is so much faster and has a 1TB hard drive vs. 80MB. I have been really good about backing up my photos but not so good about everything else like my iTunes account and taxes. I hope my office IS dept can retrieve my hard drive. I have to go back to the Apple store today to get new cords for my 2 external hard drives.

Joe & I signed up for a Give a Day project for Cradles to Crayons-they collect new & used clothes & toys for kids and new school & art supplies. I think I'll take Joe with me to the Apple store and we can see if Kohls has any super deals on the clearance racks. We are supposed to collect three 55 gallon bags each. I must have enough in my basement for one of us but I'll need a few more things for the 2 of us. We'll ask a couple of neighbors too but they are all away for school vacation. Joe needs a ticket for our May trip but I'll still have an AP so I need to decide if I want the decorative Mickey hat with pins or the fast pass option.

hmmm you raise a good point. I wonder if that promotion will still be going on in Feb 2011 when we go back? however even if not, I think it is a great idea to have the family volunteer together. We went in May and I think the fast passes are good to have!! In February we never needed one! It was great:thumbsup2

What a fabulous day at the Studios! The rain is a bummer (it rained on our DHS day too), but sure does make the lines nice! We ADORE the Sci-fi - it's just so "disney"' to me! And it is so quiet - I love it! Such a relaxing atmosphere and the kids can't get enough of it! So glad you had a great day!

California Grill looks fabulous - Love that kids sushi plate - adorable! I am hoping to one day check that place out! Looks fabulous!

Love those early morning Poly pics....:cloud9:

Welcome to Day 5 of Mishaps & Magical Moments.... The Goody's go to Disney again!

Wednesday, February 3rd 2010

We woke up around 7:00 and headed out to the GF for breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. There is something so magical about the Grand Floridian. Walking into the resort just takes my breath away. It is so beautiful! I do not think that I would want to stay there but I do love to visit!!

waiting for our table....
IMG_4054.jpg

IMG_4055.jpg

I was pretty excited for this breakfast. Being the only girl in the family most of what we do is "boyish" and this breakfast is fun for them because of Pooh, Tigger and the Mad Hatter but also for me I get to see Mary Poppins and Alice and eat at the GF and for a little while feel like a princess. princess: Mary Poppins is actually one of Owen's favorites too (he makes me watch the movie all of the time!) I couldn't wait to see his face when he saw her. We were sitting near the kitchen and right near the buffet. The food was great and the characters would come right to our table first!
First up was Pooh...
IMG_4063.jpg

Then Tigger...
IMG_4066.jpg

Oh boy!! Here she comes! She was stunning and had a nice little chat with the boys. I think we were all in awe over her!!!
IMG_4072.jpg

IMG_4073.jpg

IMG_4070.jpg

Next up and an all new favorite of Owen's.... Alice!!!! - She sat with us and talked so much with the boys. She was totally in character and so fun to listen to. She really made you feel that she WAS Alice!
IMG_4076.jpg

IMG_4074.jpg

When she said she had to go, she asked Owen for a kiss and gave him a big kiss on his cheek. He left it there for the entire day and told anyone who would listen to him that Alice kissed him. So cute!!!!!

IMG_4077.jpg

IMG_4078.jpg

Last up was the Mad Hatter. He wasn't loud or funny at all. I have heard some people say he is hysterical... we must have just caught him at a more serious time. Well he did make a funny face for the picture hee hee!
IMG_4080.jpg

The boys were given placemats and with a full belly and lot's of laughs we were on our way to Epcot.
IMG_4082.jpg

We took the monorail from the GF to the TTC and then took the monorail from there to Epcot. I think we arrived at Epcot around 10:00 or so... Boy this was the only time arriving at a park after park opening. It was pretty crowded and the only time we waited in a line on the whole trip! Right when we walked in at Epcot Stitch was there and the boys wanted to see him so we walked over because there was no line! So glad we did. He was SO FUNNY! He kissed the boys, and hugged them. He walked hand and hand back to the carriage with the boys and took out Owen's blanket and put it on his back like a cape (like he does in the movie) He was so funny.

IMG_4085.jpg

IMG_4086.jpg

IMG_4088.jpg

After Stitch, we headed over Inventions and Wayne did the Sum of all thrills. He said it was awesome. While he was in there I noticed outside a sight I hadn't really seen since we arrived in Florida..... BRIGHT BLUE SKIES and HOT SUN! I couldn't believe it. I went outside with the boys while we waited for daddy and took some cute pictures.

IMG_4089.jpg

IMG_4093.jpg

IMG_4094.jpg

Daddy met us and we headed on over to the World Showcase. Today the plan was to "Drink around the world" and to visit every country and really spend some time in each... something we have ALWAYS said we wanted to do and never did. With the sun shining so brightly we knew that this was going to be a great day!!!!!

IMG_4095.jpg

Welcome to Day 5 (continued) of Mishaps & Magical Moments.... The Goody's go to Disney again!

Wednesday, February 3rd 2010 - continued

We headed to the World Showcase and signed up for a Kim Possible Mission. Our first country to explore (and get our first drink from) was Mexico! We went on Donald's Boat ride - we all loved it!

IMG_4099.jpg

We looked around the shops and then we waited a few minutes for the new Tequila Cantina to open their doors for Wayne's first drink.

IMG_4100-1.jpg

IMG_4102.jpg

IMG_4104.jpg

IMG_4103-1.jpg

I could not do tequila at 12:00 (or anytime for that matter!) So I opted for a Mexican Beer instead.

Next up: Norway!

IMG_4107.jpg

IMG_4108.jpg

While in Norway one of the CM's stopped Myles to tell him he had a phone call. It was Goofy wishing him a very happy birthday. He thought this was the coolest thing.

IMG_4109.jpg

We chatted with that CM for awhile. It was so interesting to hear all about where they are from and how they like working for Disney and living in America. She was telling us that she only had a few months left and didnt want to leave.

Wayne and I got a beer (Carlsberg or something) from Norway.

Owen had fallen asleep while we were walking to Norway and he got a really good nap while we explored the next few countries.

Up next: China!
IMG_4111.jpg

Wayne and I both got beers from China - we were feeling pretty good.

IMG_4117.jpg

IMG_4118.jpg

We had lunch reservations at LeCellier and decided to head over there. We met a friend on the way!
IMG_4120.jpg

Owen woke up right when we got to Le Cellier. We had dinner here in May and were excited to try it for lunch and we really needed something in our belly's from the drinks around the world!!

We ended up with the SAME waitress as we had before and she remembered us. She actually said I think I remember your spreadsheet! :rotfl2: She was right- I pulled it out for her and she was like - YEP that is the one!!! Wayne and I split the Sausage dish for the Appetizer and the Filet Mignon withthe risotto for the meal...both were so good. We had a Lebat Blue beer for our "Canadian drink". Myles and Owen loved the pretzel bread!
IMG_4122.jpg

IMG_4123.jpg

IMG_4124.jpg

IMG_4127.jpg

Myles Birthday ice cream!
IMG_4126.jpg

After lunch we walked to the right and there was an alley - WHOA!!!! We saw Captain Hook, Annie, The Genie, Giddeon, Country Bears, Timone, Meeko, Pinnochio - It was AMAZING!!!!!!

IMG_4132.jpg

IMG_4133.jpg

IMG_4137.jpg

IMG_4140.jpg

IMG_4143.jpg

The kids were just going crazy!! "look over there!" Oh, Let's go see him!!" they were SO excited. It was so cool.

So many adorable pictures in that update! Love the Tigger one where Owen is showing him his little Tigger toy. And Owen and Stitch are so cute. And your family photo at the end is great. Nice update! And woohoo for sunshine :sunny: and your upcoming "drink around the world"!

Day 5 Continued!

After that, Myles, Owen and Daddy did a Kim Possible Mission in England and I got me and daddy some English Beers (Bass)

Next stop was France. We did another Kim Possible Mission and Daddy and Mommy got our favorite drink from Disney - The Gray Goose Slushie!
IMG_4148.jpg

We also met Belle and had hoped Beast would be out but there was "an emergency at the castle" and Beast would not be there. Owen will have to wait until February!

IMG_4145.jpg

Myles is very shy around the "real" characters. This is the only hug he would allow on the trip. I think he has a big crush on Belle because he gets really shy when we talk about her.
IMG_4147.jpg

We walked on over to Morroco and met up with Wayne's favorite princess!
IMG_4150.jpg

Enjoyed a cocktail from Morroco and went in the shops a little and then headed over to Japan so Wayne could get some Sake (SPELLING??). (this is the only place I didnt get a drink at!) I still had my drink from Morroco and we were heading to Germany for our dinner at the Biergarten.

This is another place I wasnt really looking forward to but was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it. The food was great. The entertainment was fun to watch and the boys got to run around and dance on the dance floor which they had a blast doing.

For our last drink- I opted for the Riesling Flight and Wayne got the largest beer I have ever seen in my life.

IMG_4156.jpg

IMG_4155.jpg

(Doesnt Wayne look like he is having fun!)

IMG_4153-1.jpg

After dinner, we walked straight out and watched Illuminations in Germany. We had the BEST viewing area. It was an area that jetted out into the water and was really awesome. Nobody was there - unlike when we saw it last in May and it felt almost like a private viewing for us. Very magical.
IMG_4162.jpg

IMG_4166.jpg

After Illuminations we headed back to the monorail- thankfull for Disney transportation after a long day of drinking around the world!

The boys had a really fun day too and were exhausted!

Looks like I was posting while you were updating! Sounds like a fun afternoon/evening at Epcot!

Another great Disney day!! We are trying 1900 PF on our next trip, glad to hear you had a good bfast there! I LOVE Mary Poppins and can't wait to see her! The GF is a beautiful resort and it is on my list to stay at again someday! I stayed there with my family when I was 14. I can't believe that was over 20 years ago! :scared1:

I was expecting your pictures to be a little blurry with all of the fun you were having! Good thing for auto-focus!! :rotfl2:

It's nice to see sunny skies instead of gray clouds!

You guys hit the character jackpot this day! Awesome!:thumbsup2

Mike and I ate at Biergarten several years back and we really enjoyed it too. It was Mike's choice and I was like, blah, but it was really good!

Mike's favorite princess is Jasmine too! It must be her big...eyes!! :rotfl:Bummer for Wayne, she was all covered up! ;)

Wow! It's the CM like the one in Norway that really make Disney magical! How awesome that she had Goofy call Myles!

What a great day!!!

Love that photo of Owen!

Emma LOVED Sum of all Thrills!!! She was just tall enough to ride but couldn't go upside down. I did it 3 times with her and my friend did it with her once (my friend's 10 year old wouldn't do it:confused:). Every time they measured her 3 times. I think it was her favorite thing on the whole trip.

SO COOL that you got to see all those characters. I think they had just started doing that the week you were there.

I don't know how you did the drinking around the world thing (well...you are younger than me...), I got a Welsh Dragon in the UK. Man did it taste good but I was afraid to finish it or Emma would have been pushing me in a wheel chair.:rotfl:

We walked on over to Morroco and met up with Wayne's favorite princess!
IMG_4150.jpg
What did he think of her big coat.;) I bet he likes her better when it is warmer.

Thank Goodness about the pictures atleast! I hope that your IT Dept can restore it for you though- what a pain huh!!??

hmmm you raise a good point. I wonder if that promotion will still be going on in Feb 2011 when we go back? however even if not, I think it is a great idea to have the family volunteer together. We went in May and I think the fast passes are good to have!! In February we never needed one! It was great:thumbsup2
The guy I talked to at the Apple store was really great-told me that the cords I needed should have come with the hard drives. That saved me $80!!! Of course I had to find them at home-not an easy task but I finally did. And got them all hooked up.

Joe & I found some great bargains at Kohl's. We got two winter jackets-one for $10 and one for $9; a couple of Oshkosh long sleeve T's for $2.20, a nice button down shirt for $2.20, a couple of Chaps polo shirts for $2.60, and some pants and socks. PLUS I had a 15% off coupon. So we got a huge bag of nice stuff for the charity at very reasonable prices. OH...we got a long sleeve T with a radio for $4.:thumbsup2

I also got some brownies, congo bars and magic bars at a nice bakery for the guys and gal at work in IS. I'm hoping a little sugar high will help them recover the hard drive.:surfweb:
