Mishaps & Magical Moments...Day 7 Added!

Welcome to Day Two (Continued) of our trip report, "Mishaps and Magical Moments... The Goody's go to Disney again"

Walking into Ohana we could feel our moods lighten... or maybe it was the Mai Tais!? The food was great, the kids were so well behaved and loved it too. They did a parade, they sang some songs, they did some hula dancing... we just had a great night. The man that helped us with our bags actually came over to us at dinner to let us know he got everything in the room for us. We were shocked and so impressed with him.... I wish I got his name to call and say how wonderful he was.

I can't believe I didnt take any pictures of the food. It was wonderful and they kept bringing us more! The dessert was just amazing too. A banana bread pudding I think!?

After dinner we walked to our new room.....

MAGIC MOMENT ALERT (I am not sure if this is a magic moment because I had to fight for it and I would have been very happy if they just fixed our problem.... but it was pretty magical)

Tuvalu - WOW I love you Tuvalu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I unpacked the room and the boys went to the arcade and came back just in time to sit out on our balcony and watch Wishes!!! AMAZING!

And from that night on this is how we slept.... with the castle changing colors and a palm tree swaying near our door. It was amazing, hard to sleep even because it was just too pretty.

Just when we thought we got the kids to sleep- we heard this music.... went out on the balcony and saw this!!!

AMAZING! I know I keep using that word but WOW!!!!

That night we slept GOOD! So happy that the Mishaps were all behind us!!!

Coming up: Day Three - Epcot and a very Rainy Day in Disney!

Ugh, I'm so sorry you had so many problems with your first room! :headache:

But, oh my gosh that view from your new room! I got goosebumps from it! What a great way to fall asleep..just watching the Castle change colors. :cloud9: I have to admit, I LOVE that pic!

Hey! I found you!!!! Woohoo!

So, I am soooo jealous about your fireworks cruise!!! How awesome was that?? What a magical way to kick off your trip. Just keep thinking about that moment when you remember the AC drama. Man, that would have made me mad. I totally understand how that put a damper on your expectations. When we checked into the Beach Club in 2008, I was so excited and couldn't wait. The CM that checked us in was so rude. She didn't even bat an eye when I told her it was Aubrey's birthday. It really let me down but our trip turned out wonderfully anyway. I'm sure yours did too. Can't wait to read more!!!!:surfweb:

Wow, not even a happy birthday!? I have a birthday story in my trip report coming up... kind of like that.... You know I think going to Disney so much the last few years I am spoiled and almost EXPECT magical moments when before we would just be so happy if they happend. I need to somehow get back to not expecting much and just being happy with what I get!

I'm here.....

Checking it out now. :surfweb:

What do you think!!??

It really was something to take your breath away when you saw it.... for the rest of the trip I just wanted to hang out in our room :goodvibes

I just came across your TR and couldn't pull myself away from the computer. You have a beautiful family - your boys are too cute!

Our trip is 2.5 months away and I can't get enough Disney! So sorry to hear that your trip started off the way it did. We stayed at the poly in 2008 and had mixed feelings. we loved the tropical feel, the monorail& the food but the pool was way to small with only 25 or so lounge chairs by the pool. We also had two double strollers with us so we had to take separate elevators. I can't believe there elevators there are so small!

Glad to hear they made it up to you!

I love the empty park!:wizard: I really like the picture of the boys walking toward the castle...
I hope we are able to swing that one day when we go...
the new room is AWESOME!!! pixiedust: life doesn't get much better than that!
great and fun pictures!

:wave2: Connie

Great start, Nickie! The boys look so excited!!:lovestruc I love their disney clothes! Too funny about the CM guy on your ME.:lmao: The boys look so happy with the characters. I can't believe how empty MK was. We are probably going the last weekend in Feb. and it is supposed to be empty too.:thumbsup2 We only live three hours away. I'm sorry to hear your trip was rainy. I kept thinking about you guys we had terrible weather too. How terrible about your first poly room. The second one though..... wow! :goodvibes Did they give you the first night for free too or not?:confused3
How cool about the wishes cruise. Sounds like your trip was off to a magical start not including the un-magical things of course. I loved LTT with the characters. It was my favorite character meal. I just love colonial Minnie!
Have a good night.

Wow! I'm sorry you had so many problems with your room! But the view from the new one is amazing! Definately going to be following your report.

Looks like a great MK day! We never take the time to see the parades either so that is a must to in December, especially with the Muppets in the parade. Hopefully, the crowds will be less so we don't have to grab a parade spot an hour before.

Wow! That view is amazing isn't it!?! I loved laying in bed and watching the castle change colors at night. It was also so relaxing to sit on the balcony and listen to the sounds of Disney, the boats, the water light parade, the quiet of the resort.

We were thinking of eating at Tony's on our next visit, but I've heard so many negative reviews that I'm not sure. It sounds like it's hit or miss there! We have never eaten at Ohana's though, so I think we need to add it to the list for sure!

:scared1: I can't believe the view you guys have! Where was the room located? You can actually leave the window shades open all the way, lay on the beds and just turn your heads to see the castle and space mountain. You guys are so lucky!!!! I would love to just lay on my bed with the MK picture on my side.

Wow I wish I had that view everyday. I mean you can just turn your head and there it is....Cinderella's Castle and Space Mountain right there. How magical. You wake up and look out the window and know you are in WDW. Great pics. I cant wait to see more :-)

We felt the same way about the Poly- We loved the theme and loved eating there but didnt love the service or housekeeping and you are right.... we had to sit by the bar because all the lounge chairs were taken and that was in 65 degree weather.... I cant even imagine of it was warm out!! Also so funny about the elevators. We kept saying the same thing- I couldnt believe how small they were!

Barbara

Hi Barbara! Yes, they did give us the first night for free.... so that made it better and then the next room was so beautiful. The first room was really nice too though- I think the Poly has that going for them for sure- the views are just so great!!! Are you thinking this february of going??

Wow! I'm sorry you had so many problems with your room! But the view from the new one is amazing! Definately going to be following your report.

Welcome!!! I know.... wasn't the view so great! I took a million pics so you will see it throughout this report a lot!!!!

Keep it coming. I am living vicariously through you!:woohoo:

Oh yeah.... Tonys and Ohana are both one TS- I say Ohana is SO much better. Also make sure you get the Wave and Whispering Canyon in!!!! Are you going to try Artist Point??

First off I am so sorry you had to go through all of the room stuff.... but that view is absolutely AMAZING!!!!!!

I'm glad you liked CM because it seems there has been quite a few negative reviews lately. I think you pay for a decent meal here and get great character interaction.

How awesome about getting a free Wishes cruise!!!! You had me LOL about Wayne running to get some beers first. That sounds like something I would do!

I cannot believe how empty MK was. You hit some great rides with what seems like no waits!!

I can't fathom how lunch took 2 1/2 hours at Tony's. We had an OK experience there but I don't think I would be rushing back anytime soon.

Can't wait to hear more. :hippie:

i know- i wanted to close the shades so the sun wouldn't wake us but I couldn't and instead left them open every night- I needed to see that sight every night and every morning! I knew we would probably never get that chance again!

ha-ha I know when Wayne ever asked him I was like :what !!!?? I felt bad, here was this man offering to take us out on his boat and now he has to wait for my husband to get some beers..... but boy was i glad on the boat, because it was nice to have a drink and cuddle up with a blanket and watch Wishes from that boat!!!!

CM is our first night must do! It is our way of seeing the fab 5 right away and then we can just relax the rest of the trip! Plus, we like the loud, party atmosphere there. It is a great way to start your Disney vacation IMO!!!!

Hi, just popping over from my TR to check yours out. Great job so far! Sounds like you had a lot of ups and downs. Love the magical things: the fireworks cruise, the new room, the no lines...very cool :thumbsup2

You have very cute little boys, by the way. Looks like they were having a great time!

Excited to hear what happens next!

Welcome and thanks!!! I have the CUTEST picture coming up on day 5 of the boys and the UP guys...... You will have to check back;) Dug is especially cute:-)

Hey, when your in Disney anything can happen:wizard: :-) I mean you never knew you were gonna get that chance when you arrived, and look what they suprised you with.

We took our first trip as a family to Disney in 2004 when Myles was 9 months old and made the mistake of inviting the ENTIRE FAMILY! :scared1: We learned from our mistakes, and from then on Disney became just ours!

Joining in! We just got back from our 1st WDW family trip and were there some of the same time you were! Just wanted to comment on your entire family comment. For this trip we invited DH's daughter, age 17, to join us for 3 days, and DH's mother and step-father-in-law invited themselves for 1 day and based on that experience we have vowed that our next trip will be our immediate family ONLY!! What a difference it made having extra people along.

Made it over. Sorry for the room problems but the view from the 2nd is priceless. Great empty park pics. Your boys are just so cute. Their excitememnt is contagious!! Yay for the cruise-my hubby would have done EXACTLY the same thing!!:)
