"Misery" - by Stephen King - the movie..

what happened with his ankles? I remember the knee scenes.
I don't remember a scene about knees, but here's the scene with the ankles (taken from IMDb) (in white in case people haven't seen the movie...highlight to read): she 'hobbles' him (puts a block of wood betwen his feet and hits them with a sledgehammer)

I read the book then saw the movie when it came out. The book was way worst, but the movie still made me wince.

I have to agree with this. Misery is the only book I have ever gotten mad at. I would call her a few choice names and throw the book at the wall! :scared1::rotfl:

Same scene, I thought it was his knee! Thanks! What a chilling story that was.

Thanks, C. Ann!

I watched The Perfect Storm last Friday, even though I have it on DVD. I really enjoy stories where weather plays a big part. I'll be watching Misery (again!) tonight.

The Storm of the Century is a good candidate for the Weather Channel's Friday night movie.
Twister (with Helen Hunt) is another good one!

I just thought of another one, The Day After Tomorrow! (Well, my DH actually thought of it;). Now THAT"S weather related!

Hmm.. I've seen Twister, but not Storm of the Century or The Day After Tomorrow.. If by chance they show them, I may just have to record them..:thumbsup2

Funny....I own all the movies listed.
I love disaster movies of any kind.
Going to see 2012 this weekend ;)

Disaster movie maven Roland Emmerich (Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow) crafts this apocalyptic sci-fi thriller following an academic researcher who opens a portal into a parallel universe, making contact with his double in an effort to prevent the catastrophic prophecies of the ancient Mayan calendar from coming to pass. According to the Mayan calendar, the world will come to an end on December 21, 2012. When a global cataclysm thrusts the world into chaos, divorced writer and father Jackson Curtis (John Cusack) uses his knowledge of the ancient prophecies to ensure that the human race is not completely wiped out. Chiwetel Ejiofor, Danny Glover, Amanda Peet, Thandie Newton, and Oliver Platt round out the cast of this end-of-the-world thriller co-scripted by the director and his 10,000 B.C. writer/composer, Harald Kloser. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

If you read the book, it's a lot worse! Here in white: She cuts one of his feet off in the book rather than just smashing it

Meriweather - Please tell us what you think of 2012, it looks like it could be a great movie!:thumbsup2

I went back in the book and found out why I thought it was his knee. "Immobilized from the pain of two shattered legs and a crushed knee."

I guess he wasn't a very good Do-Bee. That book was so graphic, horrific I couldnt read it again.:sad2:

Well - I probably shouldn't do this, but I'm bored out of my mind, so I think I'm going to go ahead and watch "Misery" again..

Should be a "fun" night when I finally go to bed.. LOL..:rotfl:

:wave2:

LOL...those kind of movies are best watched during the day with someone else ::yes::

I want to see that movie...it looks good, never saw it or read the book

however, the only thing I'm thinking of is...the weather channel playing movies?

Is this going to turn out to be "I remember when MTV played music videos and when the weather channel actually showed weather forecasts?"

There seems to be a lot of cable channels which are going pretty far from the types of shows they traditionally show, not sure if its really a bad thing? :confused3I
