I've had one for about 2 years now and I love it. I am one of the lucky ones who does not have a period with the Mirena. I have no side effects from it.
Insurance didn't cover mine, so it was about $400, IIRC.
The Dr. did say hers might be a little different experience because she has never had a child. So the actual insertion was a little more difficult.

My cost was around 700. When I added in a pap smear. I did it 6 months after my yearly so I had to go in & have another one.I don't have kids either![]()
If you don't like the pill because of the hormonal side effects, check out the Paragard instead. It's copper, lasts twice as long and contains no hormones.
I guess I will just have to ask my doctor about it. (nooooo anything but that!) The Mirena website makes it sound like it's not available unless you have given birth at least once.

I am just wondering if I need to get a second opinion.
Has anyone had one or know someone that did after 2 c-sections? My current OB said I can't have one because of scare tissue. He is not the one that delivered my kids. I am just wondering if I need to get a second opinion.
