Minority Opinions

We enjoy offsite stays in nice condos as much as onsite, for different reasons. We like having a kitchen full of food when return, worn out, and are happy we are not forced to leave again to eat out.

We love the bus system and take full advantage.

We are still a half day AK family, but are spending more time each visit.

We were a full day at MGM, now dwindling to half day at mgm family. We have a few rides we love, and after a couple times on each are ready to go.

We can spend a full day at Universal though, and our list of great rides/ shows is three times as long as MGM's.

Ok here are mine...

1. My DH & I really enjoy Sci-Fi
2. In spite of all the complaints I read about it, we love CBR
3. We think the bus system is great. We simply do not understand staying onsite and then driving all over the resort. In our mind, when it's vacation, we're letting others do the driving.
4. I absolutely hate the Indiana Jones show and HISTA
5. I really really love the counter service food. I told my DH that I cannot wait to have a cheeseburger in WDW!
6. DH & I found Mission: Space to be "okay" at best. We weren't impressed and didn't understand all the hype surrounding it. We'll probably skip it this year.
7. I've read lots of complaints about the pizza at Pizza Planet and POFQ...while we didn't think it was WONDERFUL, we didn't find anything to complain about either and wouldn't mind having some again.
8. While we do get 1 pin from the resort we stay at and 1 pin for the year we're in WDW, we don't understand the pin obsession. We personally find it way over the top.

I'm sure there's more, but that's about all I can think of.

...
I HATE the Indiana show also, unfortunately its my nephews favorite thing..I am forced to watch it each year....at least 4 times....THIS KID IS GOING TO OWE ME BIG TIME!

What is "HISTA"....I am racking my brain trying to figure that acronym out!

(La Nouba - I am so so so glad Bravo played it on tv because it saved us a $100 a piece!! I had a feeling that I would hate it, but my sis wanted to go. I kept trying to talk myself out of it but it just wasn't working! I was planning to surprise her and get her tickets to go, but after we watched it on tv I was saved!!)

My thoughts exactly! While I haven't seen the La Nouba special on Bravo, I've seen portions of other Cirque du Soleil shows and... for the life of me, I just don't get their appeal. I find them moderately entertaining, at best, and I think I could find other, much more enjoyable, much more rewarding ways to part with my hard earned cash while on Disney property.

And, while I'm at it, I would second the "ehh... it was okay" opinion of FOTLK that an earlier poster put forth. While there is no bigger fan of the movie, I thought that the show in AK was mildly entertaining, and waaaaaay over-hyped (by both the Disney employees and the Unofficial Guide). Now, strangely enough, I was genuinely wowed by Tarzan Rocks (and I'm a male who's one hundred percent secure in his heterosexuality :sunny: ). I thought the stunts were cool, the live band actually came pretty close to rocking (especially for a theme park band), and the female lead singer was, well, tasty.

Anyway, Festival of the Lion King didn't live up to all of the hype, while Tarzan Rocks far exceeded expectations.

HISTA is Honey, I Shrunk the Audience.

I had to look it up...

oooooooooooooooooooooooooh! thanks, I was too lazy to look it up!
Only saw it once years ago....it freaked the kids out!!!!!!! But it couldn't have been that good...I really dont remember it!

I found most of the food at WDW to be anywhere from truly terrible to marginal. All of the "must haves" simply tasted like cafeteria food trying to masquerade as specialty foods. Which is really a shame, as I enjoy trying all different types of food...none really delivered. To be honest, I always wonder where the people who rave about the food at WDW normally like to eat when they are at home. The only food I really enjoyed? The counter service junk food: ice creams, caramel corn, etc :) It knew it was junk food, it didn't try to aspire to anything but junk food, and it was alot of fun empty calories :) I think that next time we will stick to meals outside the park, and enjoy our "park" snacks.

I'd take a Strawberry Swirl over a Dole Whip any day of the week.

MGM was pretty dull. As much as I love the Muppets, I thought they could have put more money into the show, Star Wars seemed dated, and the Back Lot Tour thing was so boring. We ADORE ToT though, and had fun on RnR. However, we only go there for these two rides, and then we're off to another park.

Epcot seems like the red headed step child these days. I used to love it, but they are letting their older rides languish. Walt's vision is going down the toilet in this park.

Don't care for PoTC or Buzz...I know, I know, ducking the flaming arrows.

You'll never see me in a swimming pool at any of the resorts. Too many kids who seem to have been in there a little too long, if you know what I mean :rotfl:

Hate:

50's Prime Time Cafe-I like the food, can't stand the antics.

Mission Space-gave me a headache

Cirque De Solie-boring and weird, not worth the money

Pop Century Hotel-beds are too hard

Downtown Disney-not much to do, don't care for the restaurants

Pleasure Island-too loud (in other words-I'm too old!)

Love:

Sci-Fi-We like "regular, not fancy" American food

The Plaza Restaurant-nice quiet place to get sandwiches, underrated

Kaki-Gori-snowcones in Japan-best thing about Epcot in my opinion

All Star Movies-theming really lets you know that you are "in Disney"

Those cinnamon roasted Almonds that they have on the snack carts!

Pizza at the Toy Story Pizza Planet counter service restaurant

Hey now...I AM a redheaded step child!! What are you trying to say?! :rotfl2:

LOL, so was my DH now that I think of it :rotfl: Course, he's prematurely gray now, do you think it had anything to do with it? ;)

I guess I'm in the minority on...
We love AK and do not consider it a half day park at all- not if you want to see all the shows and such! Impossible to do it all in a half of a day. Everytime I read that (and I read it here often) I think what? Are you planning on doing another half day there on another day or something? Because we couldn't possibly do everything there is to enjoy there in half a day. Not even in a full day with evening EMH actually! LOL

Also in the minority (it seems) that we loved our meal at Capt Jacks- we were on the dining plan and ate at many different restaurants and it was one of our favorite MEALS (that doesn't mean it compares to some of the characters we saw at other meals though- just comparing the food alone ofcourse LOL)

Also we love staying at All Stars... although I do admit that this time going in the summer we did not like the long waits since the All Star resorts all go on one bus... we were hoping to stay at Pop Century the next trip but weren't able to get in there with free dining plan. :(

Also we didn't like Boma at all... it was a letdown after all the praise here on this board that I'd read. Part of that might be that we had some bad luck with waitresses during this trip but really the food wasn't all that great either. Except maybe the desserts but the meal wasn't worth coming just for the desserts. We love AKL though and our next family trip will probably be there. :)

We love Disneyquest and always put a day aside to go there- it seems the majority here would recommend not going to most people. LOL

Do not like dole whips- not sure what that hubbub is about on those. LOL

Is it in the minority to enjoy not renting a vehicle and using Disney transportation while there? Sure it can be annoying AT TIMES... but rarely all THAT annoying or time consuming. Certainly not enough that I'd want the extra expense of a rental vehicle and trying to navigate my way around everywhere. We just plan ahead so we won't be late even if we get tied up waiting for buses and sometimes end up getting there early because of it. LOL
