Minnie Weekend Questions

My Sole Sisters and I are considering doing the Minnie next year instead of the Donald (which we are already registered for). Reasons? Finances (3 of the 4 of us are coming from the west coast), more time to train (we have gotten a bit of a late start), this will be the last Minnie, etc.

So, how's the weather in early May? Does anybody know what the registration fee is for the Minnie 15k? I don't see that particular info on the website yet.

I know our reg fee for the Donald is nonrefundable, but if we let them know we are canceling would they at least open up those spots (4) for others who wanted to do it? Is there a wait list maybe??

If anybody can offer any input/suggestions/etc on this whole topic, I'd sure appreciate it.

I'll post what I remember.

It is hot and humid in May. It isn't as bad as July but after 9 miles, it is definately hot.

I think the fee was around $45-60 (I want to say it was closer to 60 though).

They probably won't open up those 4 spots. They will just have 4 less people running instead.

One other thing to consider - Minnie has a 15mpm pace requirement while Donald has a 16mpm.

I thought there was no longer going to be a Minnie in May. Weren't htere rumors going around that the Danskin Tri was going to be on that weekend next year and that the Minnie was probably going to change to a Princess Run in April?

I don't mean to get the rumor mill started, but I thought I read that because I remember being bummed about not being able to do the Minnie next year and get a Minnie medal. I hope the Minnie is back on!!

I will be making my 3rd WDW race trip from the West Coast in Oct. Goofy in Jan, Minnie Double in May , and ToT in Oct.

Disney will do nothing with your spots other than make money off nobody running. Minnie is fun. If you do it, do the Go Red for Women 5K the day before. Nice course. You can see my pics on my website.

The Minnie will be replaced iwth a "Princess" 1/2 in 09. Last chance for a Minnie medal in 08.

Do you think that's why my wife only lets me out of the house in black shorts? (Okay, wishful thinking, but I am Polish. Unfortunately, among other ethnicities, I am also Irish.)

Hey, speaking of moderators, where has Lily been?

ETA: I premise this by saying that Tiger Lily does a great job. If she needs help, however, I nominate WWDave, Robert and Big Vic to be tri-adjunct moderators. Robert has website experience, Big Vic does a great job running the weekly thread when needed and WWDave ... well he seems to be here a lot and has lots of posts.
