Minnie Team question

Can anyone tell me why you would register as a team instead of as two singles when the price is higher? I know there must be something, is it just for those quick bunnies (not me) who might come in first second or third as a team? Thanks!

Last year we received addition bibs to wear stating "mother/daughter team". Other than that, no extra benefit.
