Hi there

I have to make minnie mouse ears for a teeny tiny toddler head (small 2yr old) and i have no idea where to begin! anyone??

DD will not wear an elastic band around her head, so i'm thinking a black headband. i know the bow thing in the middle, but what would you make the ears out of??

Anyone done this before? thanks!!!

DD has a pair of these, it's hard to tell what they look like but it's a headband with mouse ears & bow on it.

If you need to make them, just take 2 plastic lids from tennis ball canisters. They are usually black.
Sew the plastic lids to the black headband using clear or black thread.

I bought them for DD7 when she was about 3 but now youngest DD(will be 2 in June) walks around with them on her head. They fit her pretty well and they are covered in furry fabric, I think that makes them more comfortable.

I need a new pair, our dog chewed on one of the ends and now it has a rough edge but DD still plays with them.

DD has about an average size head (about 60%).

OMG!! that is sooo creative!~!!

oo thanks!!! i may have to try them on her this year then!! i will make a pair and then buy those down there if they fit her :) that way we are covered either way :) :) :)

thats a great idea about the lids. you can cover them with felt and then cover the headband too so it all coordinates..also if you dont want to use a headband how about just a hat? if the lids are too heavy and droop, how about a stiff peice of cardbaord covered with the felt. ::MinnieMo

I like the felt idea! DD is in a headband phase right now, so i figured that would be safe and easy :)

You could also find a softer "bear" material at fabric stores. I forget what it's called but we use to sell it for ~$5/yard. Ayways you could cover curved wire and then hot glue the ears to a hadband. Or if they are for play you could consider using fun foam (2 sheets glued together for sturdiness) and a headband.
