Could anyone please tell me which Minnie Mouse costume is currently being sold in the parks? Is it this one? Do you know how much it costs in the park? Image not taken from my Ebay auction. I am not selling it. I'm trying to decide what a good price is for a used one or if I should wait until we get there and buy a new one. Thank you!

I've seen that one on the Disney store website and it's cute. I think that sometimes the ones sold in the parks are a little better made, a bit sturdier. Sometimes they're also fancier, although I don't think that's the case with this costume. I actually think the Disney store costume looks nicer than the parks version. But the parks version looks like it doesn't have sequins and my daughter hates sequins. Thanks for the rule of thumb about the markup.

That was just an estimate. I know that the parks sometimes charge a ridiculous price for apparel items that you can pick up elsewhere. I use the Princess dresses as an example. Some people claim that the ones at the park are better quality than the toy versions you find in department stores, but I know for a fact that the dresses I buy my daughter from Halloween costume stores are very high quality. Plus, they are always 20%-30% less than the outrageous prices in the park.

We were at BBB in April 2012 and they had two Minnie outfits to choose from. One was similar to your picture sans glitter, and the other had glitter. Both dresses were $60+. They sold the same dresses at World of Disney in DTD for the same price.

The dresses sold at the park are generally higher quality or fancier. I didn't look at the Minnie Mouse dress specifically when I was there, but the Alice dress at the Disney Store was made of a synthetic looking fabric and the one in the park was made of a thicker cotton fabric. I suspect it's the same with the Minnie Mouse dress. The ones in the park cost more ($50-$60,) and the quality reflects that, but I don't think that extra quality is needed. The ones at the Disney Store are nice and will last. I would steer clear of the ones at Halloween stores and big box retail like Walmart, they aren't the best quality and don't hold up well. Just a word of warning, the glittery dresses will dust EVERYTHING in glitter.

and if the care instructions include the words "Surface Wash Only" run far, far away - that isn't a clothing item.

I need a Minnie Mouse costume for my daughter to wear to the Halloween party at Disneyland. My feeling is it needs to be fairly well made to hold up all that walking, getting on rides and such.

We were there last month and here was the dress we got (at the BBB). It was also sold in the World of Disney store. I believe it was $59? The other one that you pictured in your OP was also available. Both were great quality.

My DD liked the one she chose because aside from a small detail at the neckline it doesn't say Minnie or have a photo of her on it. She didn't like the dress with the large Minnie face on it. Also, hers was more glittery:)

Mom2aidanNpiper, I absolutely love that dress and your daughter looks gorgeous in it! I think that one must be a new style. I haven't seen it before!

Your DD and her dress are lovely! I'm hoping to get it from one of my favorite ebay sellers my DD has several costume from "her" I just purchased the sweet Alice dress for her and am hoping to add Minnie to that shipment.

mom2aidanNpiper your daughter is beautiful! Thanks for posting the pictures. I've never liked the big Minnie Mouse face on the dress I posted. Other than that, I like it a lot, but the big face is strange. Is the dress you bought scratchy?

Oh my gosh that BBB minnie dress is lovely! I always see girls walking around with the princess ones, but I have never seen that. Very cute.

In case anyone is interested I ended up getting the Minnie dress aNp's mom posted from "my" ebay seller, that and the Alice will ship together, I got both for $71 total.

So cute. I wish my daughter liked Alice more. But it's the only Disney movie she finds creepy. Kids. :confused3 How does your favorite seller sell "new" items for less than in the parks. Is he/she a cast member who buys things at discount? Does he/she take requests?

Thanks everyone for thinking my DD is cute:)

I could be wrong about the price but I know it was the same price as all the Princess dresses in the BBB and World of Disney store.

There are 3 layers to the dress, the top one is sheer with the silver glitter polka dots, the next one is tulle with the white lacy edging that peaks out and the one closest to the skin is a sofy satin material. Hope that helps!
