Minnie Moo moooved in in '90, was 4 years old

We were going through the kids' keepsakes from when they were born last night. At the bottom of the pile o'stuff for my daughter was a Newsweek magazine from the week she was born. It had an article in it about Minnie Moo heading to Walt Disney World and that she was a 4 year old cow. (We were trying to figure out how old she was when she died, does anyone remember which year it was?) Anyway, that was a fun coincidence considering how much time we'd spend in her (daughter's) future at Fort Wilderness.

(PS at first I thought this magazine was something current that got mixed in, at first glance we saw on the front "Bush League, Congress Booed," above it said something about Palestine, Gulf conflict, etc. Then we saw the cartoon was of George H.W., it was strange.)

I believe she died in 2002. I say this because I have pictures of her in May 2001 and remember hearing of her demise after that but before our next trip there. So, its a definite maybe that she went to the great green pasture in the sky sometime between June 2001 and July 2002

Ok, I felt bad about the wishy washy answer, so I googled it. Looks like she died in August 2001

She died durring the week of 8/6/2001 at Animal Kingdom. She had been moved over to AK about a month earlier to get closer attention from the vets.

We remember Minnie Moo! I believe she started out in Mickey's Toontown (or Birthday land or whatever it was called then). There was a little farm area near some false store fronts (Goofy's Clip Joint was one I remember). We've got a pic of DH petting her in 1991 on our honeymoon.

We were at FW the October after she died. I remember asking one of the CM's at the Tri Circle D what happened to her. The guy got tears in his eyes and told me she died that August. There is a picture of her in the barn there.

Minnie Moo lived at the petting zoo at FW in until 1987 where she was moved to Mickey's Birthday land for the Mickey's 60's Mickey's Birthday party.

Sorry you are right it was 1988 the same time the Grand Floridian opened. it was my first summer working for Disney.

Kids loved seeing her under her house I remember when we didnt see her we asked and they told us the bad news. That was a sad day, and on top of that the kids grew like mad LOL they were too tall for the pony rides. That was a rough day for me there was a lot of whinning.
