Minnie Marathon Weekend 2008

Has anyone heard anything on the Minnie Marathon 2008. I heard rumors they might be making it a half marathon next year??? Does anyone know when it will be held and what the length might be next year???

6/14/07 "No news yet, I will let you know when a decision has been made."

5/14/07 "There have been no official decisions on the Minnie Marathon at this point, please continue to check www.disneysports.com as we should have information up about next year's events in the near future."

Buttercup: I agree I want to make my DVC ressies ASAP if in April/May. Need more info to cure my Disney race fix

I'd like more info too. I have an AP that expires at the beginning of May, so a race in April would be great. If there is no alternate race I'll have to find another half to do around that time instead...which would mean no trip to see Mickey...!! Yup....I like to plan ahead! Hopefully they let us know soon.

Yes, that's my problem too. I want to make DVC ressies. We don't have any wdw trips scheduled right now and I'm having planning withdrawels! We're holding out for this event, if it doesn't come thru we'll have figure out when to go. We rarely go when there isn't a running event.

I need to focus on the DL half to get me thru this waiting. We're going for 2 nights. That'll be fun!

Well I like the fact that it might be in April. That means I can get in another trip on my annual pass that I bought this year for the Minnie. I guess I will just be waiting by the computer to hear.

If anyone goes to any races and see's the disney booth try and ask about this weekend. I think that was how I first heard about the tower race!!!

Okay, this is killing me! I need to know when this is so I can plan to go back to the mothership!!!

I think it's funny that on the disneysports website this event is considered a "headline" event...yet there's no info.

You 'n me both!! I also have an AP that expires May 4th and would love to squeeze in an additional WDW trip before it is done, the suspense is killing me!! How can I plan my 2008 vacations with this up in the air????? I know, I know, not the most pressing issue in the world, but still......what is taking Disney so long?? If they wait too long a lot of people will have already committed to their spring events and Disney will have lost out! Let's keep our fingers crossed for an announcement SOON!

I don't know if you want to read too much into it, but Disney has removed the Inline Skating Marathon link on their website. It was liseted as being on the Minnie Weekend. Maybe the Minnie(or its replacement) will now stay on the same weekend as usual. Disney does things for a reason
