I'm sure that the answer will be NO, but are you allowed to walk with a child in a back pack carrier??

Actually, I think you are. Strollers, dogs, headphones, and a few others are mentioned as not being allowed, but baby carriers aren't. In fact, wasn't there a picture of a woman at last year's Minnie (or maybe it was Marathon weekend) crossing the finish line with baby in tow? Actually, I think baby was in a front carrier.

Don't quote me on this though. Hopefully someone will know for sure.

As long as you can maintain a 15 minute pace, backpack carriers are allowed. We did this during the Family Fun Run a few years ago and it was fine. They just don't want strollers on the course to keep people from tripping over them.

Thankyou so much :worship:
Now my husband will be able to enter with me.

There was a guy in the 15K today with a cute little girl in a backpack carrier that I passed heading into MGM.

Congratulations to your family! What a fantastic adventure you had. It was inspirational seeing you there.

How is everyone feeling?

syko: Wow that was your husband. I passed him going into HS. Your little girl was so cute, I commented as I passed him on how cute she was and he was doing a great job. It looked kinda gruelling for his back. I hope everyone is doing well. Congratulations on your "families" 15K. I saw him cross the finish line and your little girl was clapped her hand with you!! Wow, how inspriational!!

I loved it!!! Now I want to do more!!!!!
My husband sprained his foot just after the first mile, so I left him to limp along!!!! as I wanted to see what time I could do it in.
I just have bust blisters on 9 thingers and sore sholders, but it gave me such a high, when I finished I wanted to go again!!!!!!!!
All the support that I received from the other runners / walkers was amazing, it really made me push on, Thank you everyone.

Syko - I just realized you are the lady that did the race in the wheelchair. I just wanted to say congratulations to you. I saw your DH with your DD in the backpack (how cute) As we were coming out of MGM I told you how great you were doing - I give you alot of credit for wheeling the whole 9.3 miles - I am sure those hills were not easy. You did a GREAT job and congratulations.

I just realized who you were also!! I passed you right before we got out of the Animal Kingdom parking lot!! There were a whole bunch of us that passed you, and as we did people started cheering for you, your DH, and the baby!! Congratulations!!

Hey- I saw all of you too! I saw you going up one of those horrible overpasses- you were looking strong. And I took pictures (although sort of blurry) of your DH and daughter at the 5k and 15k so when my DH says he doesn't want to babysit in the hotel I can show him he has another option! I was so impressed.

We saw your DH and baby crossing the finish line for the 15k (he was way ahead of us for the 5k). Your baby was cracking me up with her helmet and her matching paci- too cute!

I wondered if that was you because you were the only wheelchair person. WISH I had said hi. OMG, and your dh, I felt bad for him as he seemed tired about mile 2. Didn't realize he ws injured. 9 blisters? Ow! WOw. Congrats to both of you!

I did see one guy jogging with a stroller for the 5k race. Was that allowed??

We saw your DH coming out of MGM. He was looking hot and tired. We cheered him then kept moving. You two are both fantastic!

Strollers are not allowed. But, they said that about the Race for the Cure 5k at Disney a few years ago. I signed Emma up as an almost 6 year old. Tons of people had strollers, wagons, etc. I can't begin to tell you how angry my child was seeing other kids being pushed- that was a long and dreadful 5k! (and they ran out of medals...)

I would love to take Harry on one of the short distance races since he does so much training with me, but I'm not bringing a stroller (and I'm not strong enough for a backpack!) A few local races allow strollers, but I still feel like we'd be in the way.

Can you tell that's one of my pet peeves?
