Minivan rental discount questions?

My dates March 9-23 must be blacked out. I keep getting $596 for a mini van using the KISS2 code

I was able to get a mini-van through Thrifty for a little over $200 for a week using the promo code 7COM. I believe that rate is good on the Dollar website as well. This is a national rate, or at least on the east coast. Take a look and let me know how it works for you.

I couldn't get the code to work. Thrifty had the cheapest rate so far though, so I bookmarked the page. Their location is about an hour away from my house but it would be worth it to save some money. Are you sure the code was right? Budget was a lot more than Thrifty but the code didn't work there either. thanks, Chris

I got a weekly rate with alamo for 296.34 total..thats taxes fees everything . they had sent me a code in email for 25 dollars off of a weekly rental. Also on the mousesavers site there is a walmart code for alamo ...free additional driver.

We are having trouble too! Trying to rent in April (Easter) from Sanford. The rates are high this year! I have tried every code and combination.

I suspect that our time frame is blacked out.

When are you going? I've currently got two reservations, one for a Pacifica through Thrifty for $550 and one through Dollar for a mini-van for $580. Both are for 14 days + 13 hours.

I have tried to get a cheap rate. I was trying to get the KISS2 rate but it keeps coming back in the 350.00. We are going July 10-17th and was hoping for a cheap rate. I'll have to keep checking.

My dates are June 27- July 7. Anyone going those dates? I have found rates at around the $500 mark. Kind of steep. Hoping for closer to the $300 mark. That is what we got 2 years ago. Even around $350 would be acceptable!

I have another question for the experts.

Given all things equal (well sorta). Would you rent from National or Dollar?

1. Sanford Airport
2. National - Chevy Uplander (6adults + 1 child seating)
3. Dollar - Dodge Caravan ( 7 adults)
We have 7 people. 6 adults and 1 child.

Now I see that the Uplander does not hold as much luggage.

Anyone have experience?

I have rented several times from Dollar and the waits can be long. We do have Dollar Express and Emerald Club. (but at Sanford you must use the counter)

I got a rate for June 27- July 7 (11 days) for $356 through Thrifty. Not the greatest, but I am much happier than I was when I was seeing $500 plus!

Hopefully something will come that is even a little better. At least I have something for now!

I just reserved a minivan for 10days for November of 07. My cost was $478 (we will be using thier insurance so that will double the final cost though). I went through Alamo and use a mousesavers site to get this rate. Using mousesavers shaved off $350 from the original price on Alamo's site. If you would like more info please PM me.

Just booked at Dollar. Minivan for 8 days June 4th-12th for $242. Half as much as Alamo.

Is Dollar a good company?

We need one for 11 days feb. 11- 22 best price I can find is $469.00 Alamo going through Costco.
I tried many others and lots of codes but so far that is the best

I booked thru Alamo last April for our upcoming trip March 9 - 23. We had to change our dates by one day and all these months I've been trying to change it, it kept coming up with these really high rates. I never cancelled it in hopes I could somehow use it (hoping rates would go down).

I tried again Saturday with DH by my side and low and behold it made the adjustment and gave me the original price and new confirmation number!

$440 for 14 days!

I would have worn through a few key boards and probably blew up my computer if I've been going at it that long.
When my DH passes by he asks what are you looking at...Disney?? Like what else??
