Hi,
What is a decent rate for a minivan, weekly rental, in Orlando in November?
I don't want to go crazy rechecking the rates all the time if we already have a good rate. I currently have a rate of $296 (including taxes, etc), but that seems a bit high to me. In the past, I had only rented the smaller, lower priced cars and they were about half this price. Thanks!

Sounds pretty decent to me! Rates have been pretty high lately...you might want to consider rechecking your rates closer to your trip to see if they drop though. They sometimes drop dramatically.

Thanks, Hopefully, I can look forward to the dramatic drop! :) Always nice to save some money.

Try using code WN333 with Dollar. It was published on the Southwest Air website. It got me a minivan for $189.99/wk (plus taxes & fees) in October. I believe the code is good through the rest of the year with some blackout dates.

Good luck.

You can also try the Contract ID 6402639 and coupon code ND9172JDF with National...I wasn't sure of your travel dates so I plugged in 11/16-11/23 (a full week) and got $264.08/total. The Dollar price looks better, but when I tried using that code with various weeks in November it didn't work...but it could be a Dollar wesite problem...it doesn't appear to be working well. Give it a whirl and hopefully you might save a few $$$!

Good Luck!

We've rented Minivans before and that is a good deal. It's unusual to get a rate under $300.

I checked out the WN333 code and you have to book through Southwest and it says rentals must be picked up by Oct 31, 06.

I'll have to check-out the National code, but haven't gotten that far yet.
thanks

I have a minivan over Thanksgiving for a week with National $250 with Emerald Club member contract id, code from Mousesavers & $25 coupon National sent me yesterday. $250 with taxes comes to $310. The Dollar codes are blacked out a lot in November so I had no luck with them. My sister has a minivan thru Thrifty for a rate of $176 before taxes with a Sams Club code. I don't belong to Sams Club & can't because there are not any in my area & you cannot pick up a car with Thrifty until the afternoon (our flight arrives at 10am & to pick up in the morning with Thrifty cost $200 more)

We rented through Dollar with the orlando card code oi1054 in corp area. It was $580.00 for 15 days. we are renting 9/21 to 10/5. I tried wn333 but it does not include another driver, so that would add another $90.00 to our total.

Thank you so much for the code WN333! I just went on southwest.com and booked a minivan for a week in September for $241 (incl. tax). We were ready to pay nearly $350 before!

I tried the code on the Dollar website and got the rate and I didn't need to go through Southwest...and I saved $41 on my ten day rental in Oct...Cool!! :cool1:

This rate code didn't work for me for a November rental. I guess that it doesn't extend that far. :confused3

If you have fewer than 6 people in your group, why not just rent an SUV? They are CONSIDERABLY less expensive and hold about the same amount of luggage as a mini-van. I'd never buy an SUV over a mini-van, but we rent SUV's when we vacation.

Can anyone use this Contract ID and Coupon code and do I need an actual coupon? Thanks for your help. These numbers really gave me a decent rate
on a Minivan in late November.

Contract ID 6402639 and coupon code ND9172JDF with National Car Rental...

:woohoo:

This code was recommended to me by a fellow DIS'r. I tried it and it gave me a great rate on an SUV. I did a little research and found it belongs to the NACDA. You can check it out for yourself. It appears to be for a convention week in FL from 2005, but it still works...and nothing on their web page indicates they will ask for ID...but I would have a backup to be sure!

Check it out and tell me what you think...

The coupon code is directly from National's website for $25 off a minivan, SUV and I think luxury car...I printed it even though it didn't say to do so...

I am looking for a minivan for end of Sept for about 12 days. In the past, I have usually been able to get a minivan for $199 from Dollar one year, Budget another. I will try some of the codes to see what I come up with.

Thanks!

Concerning the code 6402639 - a few days ago I posted questions about this code. I did call National and the woman I spoke with told me what the code represented, NACTA. I mentioned that i had never belonged to the organization, and were there any restrictions in using it. She asked if I had gotten it off the internet and I replied yes. She said there should be no problem.
Not sure, I'm a skeptic sometimes. This rental is for a family we know that will be in WDW next month. I do not want them to have any problems.
Anyone else have any experience using it? Anyone else called National?

I'm right there with you...nervous about using the code. I haven't called National though. I guess I just feel that if I decide to use it and have a problem my saying "Oh, I talked to Susie at your customer service and she said I could use it" probably wouldn't help...but you never know. I know another person posted about the code on the transportation boards but I haven't seen what responses he's gotten yet...

I did find a person on FatWallet forums who used the code and had no problem. This was back in October of 2005. He used Emerald Aisle service though so he bypassed the counter... I don't know if that would make a difference.

How wonderful that you are helping plan a trip for another family! Do you do this for a living, or is it a passion of yours? I love planning trips to WDW and would love to do it for someone else someday...

It appears the code 6402639 is no longer working the way it was! I was just rechecking my rates on the National website and it gave me $666/total for an SUV for 11 days in October. I currently hold a ressie for $383! The week base rate says $379.95 and on my ressie it is $185! It seems to now give 1 day free (the "new" ressie I'm looking at shows a daily rate of $63.33 and the discount it gave me was $63.33). That's cRaZy!

Did all your ressies with this code change too?
