Looking for a minivan from an onsite rental.

Have Dollar booked for SEpt 25 - Oct 2 for $195 plus everything.

Anyone able to see a way to beat it.

That is 216 base and then the Magic Card 10% discount.

Thanks...

MAG discount code from Orlando MAGIC card.

Amazed that base price is as low as it is anyways....

We are going from September 9 - 20. It shows base rate of $210.00 and then $48.44 per each additional days ~ boy, those additional 'odd' days really stick it to you sometimes!! That code does give the additional 10% off! Thanks!!

Hi!
I also just rented a minivan for Nov. 9-14 for 199.oo (estimated total cost is 248.93) with Budget at MCO. I used the code U030121, if anyone else is interested. BUT, if this is only the estimated cost, what can I really expect to pay? We decided to rent rather than take a towncar because we think it will be cheaper in the long run for our plans. We will be staying on Disney property the whole time but will be going to Hoop-DE-Do with 3 young ones and will need to taxi them back. Also we're staying at Shades of Green and have heard a car really helps here. If not for the kids, we would just take as long as it takes to get places. With them, we need some quick way to get back to our rooms when they fall apart. I've never rented a car before, what can I expect? Or would the towncar and taxis when we need them be the best way to go? Thanks for any advice anyone has!

Those are great minivan rates!

Here's one other option that may work for you: consider renting the car for only part of your stay. I am going for 10 days but renting the car for a week, returning it to the national counter at the Dolphin and then getting a towncar to the airport.

Not only does it save me over $60 (net of the towncar cost) but it is way more convenient - the car will drop us and our luggage off at the same time, no struggling with all our bags to the checkin counter.

Hi!
My rate is for the week, even though we are using it for only 6 days. But, I will check to see what the one way rental is for our arrival. We could go to Hoop Dee Doo that night. Thanks for the idea!:D

I just put my travel dates in using your code and it came up with $358.96 base for a minivan. That's more than I want to spend....

msrustykn,

You won't get much better than that since it is a weekly rate. I think I saw mtblujns' dates and the lament about the extra day rates (and 48 is pretty high!).

Also, to answer your question about what you can expect to pay - as long as you don't add any extra insurance or drivers or opt to pay for them to refill your tank, then I think that "estimate" is what you should wind up paying. At least in my experience it has been that way.

The rates are out of control!!!
Luckily, I secured a rate of $249 Base for 9 days for a full size 4 months ago! Last night, I spent 2 hours on the internet trying to find a good rate using, AAA, Entertainment and other codes to try to get a good rate from ANY rental co. The rates for me, are about $100 more than what I already have! So much for last minute deals!?

I got a dollar minivan from mco for $227/week from the website....with no coupon! Don't know if this is still the case

If you don't mind taking the shuttle, I got a Thrifty weekly base of $169 using the Walmart discount code. For the savings, I'll take the bus to Thrisfy's remote site.

ed, was $169 for a minivan with thrifty? I tried the wmrt code and got a rate of $317.49/week. That is a great rate!

I joined Blue Chip and used the AU02 Walmart code. The contract says you need a Walmart credit card so I applied for one and received it in about a week. Weekly base rate for a minivan (Dodge Caravan) was $169 plus $35.00 for additional days. All in, my 10 day minivan rental was reserved at $344 ($274 plus taxes, etc.):D

Ed please help I'm not sure what I am doing wrong but I keep getting over $300, did you use AU02 or au02 and did you put it in the corporate or promo space. Hopefully I can still get it.

Thrifty --- If your booking - Ebates gives a 'rebate' and have a 5% discount code that populates the promo box when you link. AU11 I think... and I think the rebate percent is 4%

Its worth checking out....

I put the code in the promo space. I don't remember if I used upper case and the code didn't print on my confirmation. I picked up the Walmart code, which is different than the Walmart Rand McNally code, from another Thrifty post on this board a few weeks ago. Good luck!

thanks for the tip, i just saved nearly $50 over National for my March, 2005 trip!
