Hiya

You may think I am mad but I've booked American Adventure Parlour Room for my reception and it has a minimum of $3000 for food and beverage. The Thing is there's only 15 of us in total for the reception and this means that I need to spend $200 p/person. I've had a look at some of the menu's and was looking for suggestions on what to add to bring up the money. Who'd of thought it, I'm trying to spend money but I'm finding it difficult. :lmao:
I can't include my cake in the minimum and we have 3 juniors under 21 so they are having the soft drink bar.
If you had to choose what would you include at the reception to get up to $200 each????

Any help is really appreciated..

TIA

Slipper Desserts?
Sorbet course in glass slippers or butterflies with glowlight?
Chocolate Covered Strawberries?
Action station such as potatoe Martini bar?

Sorry but these are all the things I think are really cool that I would love to add but don't want to spend the $$$:rotfl:

So far I've got the cinderella's event menu with added sorbet course in ice sculpture, champagne toast and signature cocktail, glow cubes for drinks, full package bar and I'm still coming out about $250 under. I need to spend an additional $18 per person. Our dinner should be finishing at 8pm and then we have a dessert party as well at 8.30pm there's going to be so much food!!!

Any other suggestions?

TIA

Oh lordy, Mermaid Bride - now I'm starving! :rotfl:

All those are good things! Also, you could do a duo plate of steak and lobster - that's gotta be spendy! And an open bar... Skip the cake and do a ton of desserts maybe?

Also, if you're doing a dessert party, could you ask whether the food at the Dessert Party would count toward the minimum? I don't think it does for other locations, but it seems like since both meals would be in Epcot, maybe they could fudge that a little....

Mermaid bride,

Maybe you could consider a more expensive package, like the Castle package, which would bring the price up. You could also maybe add an enhancement to your cocktail hour (if you're having one), like 100 cocktail shrimp or something like that.

Good luck! :rotfl:

I had thought about having one of the higher priced menu's but it included caviar and I really don't think it would get eaten so it would be a waste. I had also thought about the lobster as well but I have some people in the party who don't eat shell fish so that was a no go.

Does anyone have any prices for additional items you can add to your cocktail hour.

Lurkyloo: Unfortunately the dessert party doesn't go towards your minimum expenditure so I'm a bit stuck there. It would of made sense to do it that way but the minimum spend is based on the room so I can't really get out of it.

I really think that we are going to be having far too much food. We going to have cake and champagne followed by 5 course meal with dessert and a whole dessert party afterwards.

xx

Add a bride and groom strawberry to every cake plate... they are $6 a piece so that gives you $18pp. :goodvibes

I thought there was a 100 person minimum for AAR? Is that a different room?

Ok here's what I pulled from the magical kingdoms site with menus

How about an Edible Centerpiece?

Dipping into the Centerpiece
White and Dark Chocolate Fondues, Pineapple, Berries, Sponge Cake, Marshmallows and Pretzels
$55.00++ each

Keeping Health as the Centerpiece
Dried Cranberries, Cherries and Apricots
Cashews, Spiced Walnuts, Fresh Berries and Granola
$50.00++ each

A Treasured Centerpiece
Chocolate Treasure Chest filled with Chocolate Truffles, Tea Cookies and Fresh Berries
$60.00++ each

All about Mickey Centerpiece
Large White Chocolate Mickey Mouse surrounded by Small Chocolate Mickey’s,
Mr. and Mrs. Strawberries and Mickey Confetti
$85.00++ each

Maybe this works????

She is in the American Adventure Parlor... it is upstairs - not in the rotunda. You do not need the 100 person minimum because they do not close the attraction as far as I know.

Why can't you include the cake? I could possibly understand if they wouldn't let you include the DP because it was in a different location, but you will be having the cake in the AAP.

Don't underestimate the alcohol bill. We had Martini and Rossi for our toast and it was $40+ a bottle, which serves around 6. Also, look at some of the action stations for your appetizers they are more expensive and the shrimp cocktail will help you up your $$$.

We're at the LSS and I also asked about cake being included.

I was also told no it couldn't count towards minimums, canb't quite remember the reasoning behind it though.

As far as I understand it, cake goes towards your overall DFTW food and bev minimums ($100 pp) but when you have a location that has its specific minimum you must meet that as well. Am I making sense lol?

first this is so cool! i wish i could have had to spend more money heheh
anyway ok well the past hour i heard were the guests favorite so this might help. i am not positive but i think 3 hord..is 22 a person maybe you can do 2 passed to add up. they have some yummy choices

Hiya

Thanks for your replies...

I like the idea of the eddible centrepieces but I think that there will be so much food they will go untouched. I'm not having a big wedding cake so I guess that's why it can't go towards the minimum spend.
It does state that there is a budget of $100 p/person for food and beverage in the AAParlour Room but because there is so few of us it works out at $200 p/person because the minimum spend is $3000.
I haven't really spoke to my planner properly about the different options but I think that will be the first thing on my list to do.

Thank you for all the suggestions... Keep them coming. ;)

TIA
