minimum amount to tip mousekeeping when going solo?

So....what would your 'per person' tip be in these situations?
I didn't say I HAD a per person tip, just said that it makes more sense than a %.
But - add on bread service, appetizers, wine, desserts, cordials, coffee, your $5 wouldn't cut it for the amount of actual service performed by the restaurant staff.
This is not something that I would ever do. Very rarely, we might get an app but never dessert or after dinner drinks etc. But this brings up something else. Many times, bread & salad are included in the meal. But they also make more work for the server. By doing a simple % this is not taken into account.

Not saying I have all the answers, just saying that the simple % doesn't really make sense.

I just don't like the idea of a stranger being in my room with my stuff. I know 95% of the housekeeping staff is above board & trustworthy. But that 5% that is shady...I am not going to take my chances.

I doubt that the shady percentage of people with access to your room perceive the do not disturb sign as a deterrent.

interestingly enough, on my last stay, earlier this month, I was being given change on my next to last day. I had a conversation with the cashier about not needing it because I am Canadian and we don't get exchange for coins. she suggested I leave it as part of the tip for the maid, said she suggests this all the time.
I really scratched my head because I had never thought of this idea and its a good one. not to only leave coins but to leave any coins I don't want along with the paper money I leave. if its not any use to me she might as well have it.

i'm planning a solo trip. i like to keep things neat and compact when staying at hotels which means my belongings will be in drawers or the cubby area of the dresser and not lying all over the place for mousekeeping to have to clean around. whats the minimum i could tip each day considering the room will be pretty neat and tidy?

$2/day
