Minimum 4 night stay at HRH over Xmas!

Just called Loews to book 3 nights over Xmas ie Dec 26 to 28 but was told I had to book at least 4 nights!! That's too long IMHO for Universal! Instead, booked for 3 nights Dec 23 -26. I'm a bit dissapointed because we wanted to do AKL for 3 nights first and be at Disney for Xmas dinner. Oh well, it will still be great.
I asked about entertainment rates for the time we will be there but it is a blackout period. Reservationist gave me a rate of $235.00 per night for a deluxe room instead of rack rate of $299.00. Could I have done better?Please advise!

I did ask what would happen if I booked 4 nights and at check-in told them we were leaving a day earlier than planned. Reservationist said we would be billed an extra $50.00 at check-out time. I may still do that although it is a bit unethical!

This doesn't surprise me. Usually during busy times, hotels will have you book a minimum stay. As for the rate, I think it is the best you will get during the busy Christmas time. Usually the rates during Christmas are extremely high.

I would also ask if they have a Fan club or AAA rate. Also, keep calling back I had to call for several weeks to get a discount at PFB over Easter.
