Minifig trading at Legoland?

When we were in Florida, the kids enjoyed trading minifigs with the employees. Do they do that at LL California? Are there any "rules"? For example, does the minifig being traded need to be an actual minifig produced by Lego, or can it be a "masterpiece" built by the kids from various minifig parts? I'm not sure if we have many head to toe authentic minifigs around this house anymore, but I thought I heard that was a new requirement at some of the Lego Discovery Centers.

I'm heading to Legoland for the first time in a couple of weeks! So excited!

They do trade minifigures in California according to other posts. I'm not sure about if they have to be official minifigs or not but I'd love to find out because I'm not sure we have any either.

Our girls love mini-figure trading... My advice is to try to trade early on; by the end of the day, you see more and more figures missing hair/hats and accessories.

Mini-figures can be creations, or pre-made figures from the packs. The best deal is to build 3 mini's for $10 (either in the park or at one of the Lego Stores). If you're expecting to trades, that's a better deal than buying $4 individual packs.

Good advice. The mini figure trading is fun, though like you said if you are collecting them the ones that are traded are sometimes missing accessories.

Also if you are interested in collecting the current series there are workers at the stores (particularly the one next to Coastersaurus) who can tell what figures are in the packs by touch. They showed us how to do it and by the end of the trip we were able to do it ourselves.
