Correct. You can get another FP as soon as either the window opens on your current FP or two hours after you got that current FP, whichever is earlier.

Awesome! This helps some planning for sure. I guess we didn't utilize FP so much because we go during September when the crowds are low. I seriously didn't think twice about standing in line for many of the headliner attractions for 20 minutes or so. We just used FP to "run around and get back on."

I am not being mean here but i have to say until disboards i didnt even know you could go back at a later time or whatever. What't the point of having a time on a FP if you dont enforce it. It is kind of Disney's fault for allowing it so long, but seriously to me it's one of those "a rule is a rule" type of thing. Abusing a system point in place to help people not have as long of wait times is ruining it for people who actually do follow the FP system. Who even thinks to use it at another time is just not setting a good example for other in my opinion. People getting mad because they are finally being told to do what is supposed to be done anyway??? just dont understand that!

We have always used them the way they were intended to be used.

Having started going to Disney way before FP's even came into being we thought they were wonderful when they introduced them and never even thought of using them in any way but how they were intended.

Just like so many things when people try to abuse and take advantage of a good thing it goes away.

And I should mention that the earlier of those two times is the time printed on the FP as you mentioned.

currently at WDW with 3 dd's and 2 dgps - know i will get all kinds of flack from those purists who believe in using fp's during the return window, but i have to say how much it has negatively impacted our touring strategy.

we had really become spoiled by being able to accumulate fp's throughout the day and using them as it was most convenient for us - usually saving several sets for later in the day/evening.

now there's a great deal of stress put on deciding what we can fit in before the next window is up and it has significantly detracted from our experience.

really feel like disney is setting the table for charging resort guests for the xpass that will allow guests, for a fee, to purchase fast passes at a set time for headline attractions 6 mos in advance. They have created the demand b/c of the inconvenience that they've caused those of us who can't "work the system" anymore by saving fp's for later use.

ITA and have thought all along that they did this specifically so that when they roll out the new system, they can talk about how much it frees people up so they don't have to worry about return windows and going to rides 2-3 times to ride.

I think they purposely created unhappiness so that they could end it...much like the thug who will protect your car from himself, for a fee (but obviously without threat of actual harm or criminal activity, for all the extremely literal out there.)

So sorry for the stress it causes you to learn to follow the rules - not - Hoarders of fast passes till the end of the day people will get no sympathy from me. As a pp said, I didn't even realize that was going on, as I try to be a rule follower, instead of breaker. I will say , as we just got back, that the lines in the evening are much shorter. We always wondered why they were long in the evening - now we know Thanks, Disney, for finally enforcing the rules

The new policy is only bothersome if you let it be bothersome. Instead of griping about how the new policy ruins your old touring plan, how about making a new touring plan that better utilizes the current fastpass policy?

Sorry to burst everyone's bubble of righteousness, but it's pretty clear the main reason for enforcement is preparation for the new system, which will require strict management of return times for the advance reservations.

If they changed the window enforcement to fix abuse, why wouldn't they also change the enforcement in Disneyland? They still aren't enforcing the window there.

The fairness idea might make people who missed out feel better, but it's preparation for X-Pass.

Before March 7th, when the CMs repeatedly told me the FPs were good until the end of the day, I certainly wasn't breaking any rules.

We won't have any problems in the parks next week with the enforcement.

What is so hard about it? It is working so wonderfully now. I have not had to wait 5 minutes when I return compared to 20 minutes or more before.

I've moved on, except I get wound up another notch every time a poster decides to share how "good" they were, and by implication how "bad" I was. Drives me batty. I bet you could tell.

I am worried about this for our upcoming trip.

In the past, it was nice knowing that if you had a dining experience that ran late or an issue with the kids, Disney would be forgiving and allow you to use your fastpass a little later than the window.

I agree. Some of us were never "abusing" anything...rides break down, dinner reservations run late...kids wet their pants. You name it.
My dd can't tolerate the sun (sunscreen allergy and pale as a sheet) so we would often go early and collect FPs we could use later when we came back because she couldn't hang out in the mid day sun.

How hard can it possibly be? You get a fastpass and then you use it. Unless it is for a lot later, you can't have that many at a time. You just stay in the area until you can use it.

I don't get how hard of a thing it is.

What?! People have been using their passes later in the day? I had no idea you could do that and get away with it. I'm such a noob. lol

We always used them like we were supposed to and we just appreciate the fact that they are even in existence. They are the best thing ever and really helped us fit more in. No need to stress about them. Just plan a little bit and be happy you're not waiting in 90 minute lines!

I agree. Their "stress" now is replacing our stress then of racing all over the place to get these FPs that were being snapped up as they were. I didn't like the idea of having to race all over the place just to procure these passes. Running all over the parks isn't my idea of vacation. It's that much harder when you have young children as well. THAT was stress that didn't need to be there if the rules were enforced. It's an even playing field now. The more visits we get under our belts, the less the prospect of rush rush rush is to us.

We hope this "Tabel Setting" is coming tomorrow. We like to sleep in and just go with the flow. On of the consequences is that by the time you get into the parks most FP gone or for very late. If you used the late FP you than to deal with hoarders that clogged up the lines. I'm glad Disney stopped this. It would be great to reserve our FP six months in advance. We plan our meals a half year in advance so planning the FP use would be just as easy.
You have lunch at twelve? Take a FP for half past three. How easy could it be?
As for paying for FP that also would be no problem. Paying guests get perks.
Sorry no sympathy from me.

FP times are an hour long, if you always plan to be there at the earliest time very few things will prevent you from getting there in time.
If you're in the FP line and the ride breaks down the CM's apparently still honor it if you get to the front late.

I went a few months ago and I was very worried about how the change would affect us. I was a big fan of collecting FPs and using them late!

The biggest difference I noticed was a lot more walking since we had to use the FP w/in the window. We also rode less, but all in all in wasn't as bad as I feared!
